It was a real pleasure for Theme & Variations to once again be a Presenting Partner with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra , this time welcoming the extraordinary Dutch pianist brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen to the Sydney Opera House! Perfectly in sync with one another, their exceptional musicianship communicated the kind of artistry that can only happen on stage when two artists grow up playing music together 🎹 🎶

Alongside their joyful, energetic playing, it was also a privilege to spend time with them offstage. The Jussen brothers added their signatures to our “Keyboard of Fame” - a unique keyboard that holds the signatures from some of the outstanding pianists we have had the privilege of working with throughout our long history in the Australian music community.

More than just a signature, each key represents the relationship we have built with the artist in our shared pursuit of pianistic excellence of sound quality and touch at the instrument. The Jussen brothers chose to sign their names next to the Labeque sisters - Katia and Marielle - who they said were inspirations for them growing up. Adding their signatures to our Keyboard of Fame felt like adding another meaningful new chapter to a story that has already been growing for many years!

As a proud supporter of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for over 20 years, moments such as this are a wonderful reminder of why we value our longstanding relationship with the SSO. Working at the highest level alongside exceptional musicians, and contributing in our own way to the experiences they create for audiences, is incredibly rewarding for us.

Today is a gentle reminder of the importance of connection, kindness and simply being there for one another.

Music has always had a special way of bringing people together, creating moments of connection, expression and belonging when words can sometimes be difficult to find.

Through our work with musicians, students and the wider arts community, we are reminded every day of the importance of creating spaces where people feel supported, valued and connected.

Today, we encourage everyone to reach out, check in and listen. Sometimes a small gesture can mean more than we know.

As another wonderful Australian Festival of Chamber Music draws to a close, we would like to congratulate the artists, audiences and the entire AFCM team on another inspiring celebration of chamber music in Far North Queensland.

Behind every great performance is an enormous team effort, and we have been incredibly proud to once again support AFCM by providing the concert pianos and technical expertise that help bring this festival to life.

This year, our team carefully prepared, transported and supported multiple concert instruments on their journey from Sydney to Cairns, ensuring each artist had a piano they could trust throughout the festival.

A special thank you to our dedicated piano technician Brian Wilson, whose experience, precision and care played such an important role behind the scenes. Along with piano carriers who trasported door to door. Their work often happens quietly, but it is essential in allowing musicians to deliver their very best performances.

As the pianos now begin their journey back to Sydney, we thank the Australian Festival of Chamber Music for its continued trust and collaboration. We look forward to their ongoing success at Australian Festival of Chamber Music

There is so much more to a concert than what audiences see on stage.

We're incredibly proud to have supported the Australian Chamber Orchestra in bringing Alfred Schnittke's extraordinary Concerto Grosso to life through the fascinating art of the prepared piano.

A sincere thank you to the ACO for the lovely acknowledgement, and to our wonderful Head Technician, Ken Hatfield, whose knowledge, precision and creativity made it possible to recreate the unique sound world Schnittke imagined.

These special projects are a reminder that behind every great performance is a team of dedicated people working quietly behind the scenes to help musicians realise their artistic vision.
Congrats Simon Tedeschi, Richard Tognetti and the entire ACO on a wonderful tour. It is always a privilege to be part of the journey. Australian Chamber Orchestra
