“Honey is vegan.” 🙄

A common misconception and while it’s often marketed as natural and “ethically sourced”, without full transparency animal suffering can still be hidden from view.

Did you know some beekeepers clip the wings of the queen bee to stop her leaving the hive, forcing the colony to stay put for production?

Cruel and completely unnecessary 😡

I’m also deeply disappointed by the recent news that The Body Shop has dropped its vegan status to introduce products containing animal-derived ingredients.

The alternatives already exist:
🐝 Instead of beeswax use Candelilla wax
🍯 Instead of honey use Agave nectar or vegetable glycerine

It really is that simple and it ensures no animals are harmed.

Next time you replace a beauty product, choose one that is both Vegan AND Cruelty Free. These small swaps matter and collectively we are helping put an end to animal suffering 🌱
