Fresh cut flowers are offered seasonally from early Spring to mid Autumn with both bouquets and straight bunches made using ingredients fresh from the field to order. Bouquets need to be ordered in advance via our website - by 5pm before the day required and are available for pickup only from the farm gate stall. Please note our farm is a private residence and is not open to the public for beyond our farm gate stall. We kindly ask that you do not visit the farm without a pre-arranged appointment for farm gate pickup / outside of our weekend farm stall hours. As you can imagine, it can be startling to find people wandering around our backyard and home uninvited.

I thought it would be pertinent of me to provide a little slideshow, a small quick lesson in Dahlia tubers to ease your anxiety as I start to send out your orders in the post.

I too have in the past, felt that pang of fear when opening a parcel of much anticipated Dahlia tubers and have not been able to spot an eye. I have felt the blind panic (pun intended) and have knee je**ed out emails and stress. I get it! And I've got you. I have complete faith that all tubers I am posting have eyes and will grow. If I can't see it, I don't post it, cool?

So sexy that I'm making sure you've popped an eye before I ship you.

This week I'll be posting all the collection orders that I can, because I can pack them all up exactly the same and it makes for a fast shipping process and damn do I love it when sh*t is efficient. For real, it's my favourite thing.

Just an FYI however - I do have to pop off any shoots for TPP requirements, which means even though the eye is there it can be extra hard to spot! No matter what state your order is going to I treat all my tubers the same, so even if you are in VIC, shoots will be pinched ☺️

Over the weekend I finally began dividing the seedlings I managed to dig out during the flood, I only went in for the ones I really didn't want to lose, and while their tubers don't look too amazing, some have managed to hang in there! Some have also totally given up the ghost; RIP it wasn't meant to be.

TBH I wasn't able to pull that many out, and I've left quite a few in the ground and am hoping maybe something will sprout despite still sitting in a waterlogged field. I'll find out sometime in November I guess!

These ones are all confirmed as survivors for now 🤞

Something that I started doing when I began breeding my Queen Vic dahlias was keeping a plant or two seperate from the field of my favourites and planting them in my garden; so i could visit them in a non "workspace" and also as back up plants for just in case situations like kangaroos eating all my plants, or a zombie apocalypse. Regular stuff like that.

Today I went out and dug them up and put together a few more Queen Vic Collections from my private stock 🙌
