Nick's treasured finds gave him great joy. He spent many hours scouring Flea markets and antique markets in Paris and London and mudlarking on the Thames during his time as an Artist in Residence in Paris and while undertaking research for his Masters and Doctorate. His collection includes curiosities, Mori jewellery, watches, militaria, marquetry boxes , die cast models, prints, bookplates and en
gravings, photographs and post cards, antique books and writing implements, fine art, Sanctus, and varied other ephemera. Nicks collection was specific, considered, and often particularly relevant to his research and development for the exhibition of works for his masters and doctorate. Many of the objects, curios and images appear in his art works. Antique books were also purchased for reference. It’s time for Nicks treasures to find new admirers and continue their journey through history. It is hoped that the sale of these items will help fund publication of Nicks writing, a retrospective exhibition of his works from 1980s to 2019 and a visual, catalogued record of his prolific life’s work. His family hope you will get as much joy from his 'finds' as he did.
