On the mid-north coast we normally use native plants for smoker fuel - paperbark, casuarina needles, banksia leaves, gum leaves all burn well. But when you have the chance why not try some pine needles? This is the second year I have taken the tree down and saved the pine needles.

I am obsessed with making (and lighting) tapers at the moment! Have just packaged up a batch for Valentine’s Day. I know - we have only just got over christmas - but trust me, it is only a few weeks away. I will have these at the Woopi Beach Market this Saturday. Also, I still have some spots available for my Tapers, Tealights and Luminaries Candle Making Workshop in January. I am excited to be putting this course together. It will be different from previous classes as we will be focusing on dipping, and 🌺 embedding.

On Saturday 7 March 2026 we will be hosting a Keeping Native Bees workshop at the Woopi Bee Shed, with Steve from . The workshop will run from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and will include a hands on look at a Tetragonula carbonaria hive. Tickets are available through eventbrite or contact me directly.

Lucky day for someone! We have a new season mated Italian queen left over from a large order this week. If you need a quality queen urgently let us know, otherwise she will go into a split.
