Grassy's Grass Fed Grassy's Grass Fed is a free range egg business from located in the Yass Valley of NSW. Producing quality organic eggs from happy chooks is our passion.

Grassy's Grass Fed Free Range Eggs business is run by the McGrath family on our property "Wattle Valley" 16 kilometres west of Yass NSW. Our eggs are produced by hens that are real free range. Housed in mobile trailers which are moved regularly to improve our soils and produce quality eggs. We have 1750 hens spread out in 2 paddocks, one 8 Ha the other 13 Ha. They are guarded by 3 Marrema Dogs wit

h 2 more in training. We build all our trailers for roosting in and to hold the roll away nest where the hens lay their eggs. Our eggs are available from the Yass Farmers Market on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month and the Murrumbateman Farmers Market on the 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month. We will be at Murrumbateman markets tomorrow as usual.

This week we have an excess of 600 gram eggs, we will have more than usual and they will be on special for $5 a dozen.

Our eggs are also available at the Village Cafe in Murrumbateman if you’re looking for eggs and a coffee during the week.

Weather looks like the rain will hold out. Looking forward to it.

It’s been a busy time on the farm and the girls are being visited by the cows. The Meremmas are enjoying their friends (after some barking to ensure they’re trustworthy).
Murrumbateman ‘mini market’ are on again tomorrow and Ian will be there from 9am-11am, so head on down to grab your eggs and some vegetables and meat from other local producers.

UPDATE: Murrumbateman markets this weekend.

While the traditional market is cancelled we have had word that four suppliers (including us) will be able to still set up under the trees at the rec grounds. We will be joined by,

Verducci Fruit and Veg,
Wagga Free Range Pork
Allan Wichenwan Fruit and Veg

We are pleased to have this opportunity to sell our eggs this way this week. We are aware that this opportunity may not be viable in the weeks to come and we are still considering and planning for a home delivery.

For this weekend we ask that you make an effort to utilise pay wave or bring exact cash. Please continue to exercise the social distancing measures enforced. We love to chat with our clients normally, however loitering is discouraged in the current time.

Dad will be arriving before 9am and packing up at 12pm on Saturday.

Hi everyone! Murrumbateman markets have been cancelled. Which is a shame but I am in the works for a solution. I (Kathy, Ian’s daughter) or Dad May be able to set up a station in murrumbateman on Saturday for eggs. However I need to look into licensing and restrictions on all of that. We are also considering home delivery but this comes with significant time from us and we are already stressed. Trying to work through this day by day and still bring you your eggs. The girls are still unaffected and happy in their paddocks, laying their eggs. Supply is coming we’re just going to have to change how we get the eggs to you. We will keep you updated. Hopefully we will have an update later today with how things will progress on Saturday.

Just a quick update about markets. Yass Market has been cancelled this weekend, Murrumbateman Village Market is going ahead next weekend at this stage.
Anyone who buys eggs of us at Yass Market can purchase our eggs at Trader and co and Thyme to Taste. They're a bit dearer but all local businesses need support over the next few months.
I will resupply them both tomorrow morning.
On the egg supply situation, we along with every other egg producer is still producing the same amount of eggs as last week. There is no need to panic buy. In fact due to a slow down in people dinning out we may have more available for retail.
Anyone having problem getting our eggs please call on 0428 198 555.
