Almar is a proud Australian family-owned business which started from the back of a van travelling around Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Northern NSW. Initially the business sold tools and industrial hardware to sporting and golf clubs, farmers, small mechanical and steel fabrication workshops and various quarries and sandmining businesses. The name Almar was derived from the first names of the proprietors Allan and Margaret Horrigan, a clever and snappy name which is now well known to customers. Over the past 30 years, Almar has grown from a one-man van operation to become a large industrial supply shop with a staff of around 20 and clients Australia-wide and also as far away as Papua New Guinea. The business is divided into two areas; Almar Workwear and Safety with a vast range of work boots, workwear, road safety supplies an protective clothing; and Almar Welding Engineering & Hose Supplies with a diverse range of hand tools, air compressors, power tools, air tools, welding equipment and consumables – all available under the one roof.
