Good news for the Tablelands — a selection of our handmade Ukraine-support items is now on the shelves at Lalli's op shop in Yungaburra.
Hand-painted sunflower caps, shoes and clothing, silk scarves, handcrafted earrings and patchwork baby blankets — each one made with care, and every purchase helping fund our practical humanitarian and medical work alongside communities in Ukraine.
And there's a lovely second layer to this. Lalli's is no ordinary op shop. Its takings support children in Nepal through the wonderful, relationship-based work founded by Dr Digby and Anne Hoyal — work that mirrors so much of what we believe in. Our founder Lara and her husband Ron have supported it for many years, because we believe in what they do too. So when you shop at Lalli's, you help two good things at once: our work in Ukraine, and Anne's work in Nepal.
It really is a special place — full of beautiful vintage finds, jewellery, books and treasures (even some of Lara's grandmother's vintage jewellery is on display), in a gorgeous spot right next to Yungaburra's lovely cafes. Well worth a browse.
A big, warm thank you to the wonderful Anne — 87, still serving, still helping people around the world, and still with a sparkle in her eye — and to all the lovely volunteers who make Lalli's what it is.
