The National Flag of independent Bangladesh was published offcially on 17 January 1972. It consists of a red disc on top of a green field. The red disc is offset slightly toward the hoist so that it appears centred when the flag is flying. The disc represents the sun rising over Bengal, and also the blood of those who died for the independence of Bangladesh. The green field stands for the lushness of the land of Bangladesh and the eternal youth of Bangladeshi's.

Not only in December, the month of victory over the enemy of occupation, but I want to be coloured with the national colour each day of my life.

Heartiest respect for them who sacrificed their present for our independent future.

My humble Salute to the National Colour!!

Let's be concerned about not to degrade the National Flag by any means even unintentional.

Let's keep a small space for the Flag in our hearts.

Let the National Colour be the source of inspiration till eternity.
