কিংবদন্তি শিল্পী এস এম সুলতানের ১০২তম জন্মবার্ষিকীতে শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি

বাংলার মাটি, মানুষ ও শ্রমজীবী জীবনের অনন্য চিত্রকর এস এম সুলতান—বাংলাদেশের শিল্পভুবনের এক কালজয়ী নাম। তাঁর ১০২তম জন্মবার্ষিকীতে জানাই PinkAsia Limited পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে গভীর শ্রদ্ধা ও ভালোবাসা।

এস এম সুলতান তাঁর তুলির শক্তিতে গ্রামীণ বাংলাদেশের কৃষক, জেলে ও শ্রমজীবী মানুষকে তুলে ধরেছিলেন এক অনন্য মহিমায়। তাঁর ক্যানভাসে কৃষকের পেশিবহুল দেহ কেবল শারীরিক শক্তির প্রতীক নয়; তা ছিল মাটির সঙ্গে মানুষের গভীর সম্পর্ক, শ্রমের মর্যাদা, আত্মমর্যাদা এবং বেঁচে থাকার অদম্য শক্তির প্রতিচ্ছবি।

যে মানুষগুলো আমাদের খাদ্য উৎপাদন করেন, নদী ও মাঠের সঙ্গে জীবনকে জড়িয়ে রাখেন, নীরবে গড়ে তোলেন এই সমাজ—সুলতান তাঁদেরই দিয়েছিলেন তাঁর শিল্পের কেন্দ্রে স্থান। তাঁর শিল্পে গ্রামীণ মানুষ কখনো করুণার পাত্র নয়; বরং তারা শক্তিমান, আত্মমর্যাদাশীল এবং মহিমান্বিত।

এস এম সুলতান শুধু ছবি আঁকেননি—তিনি এঁকেছেন বাংলার মাটি, মানুষের শক্তি, শ্রমের সৌন্দর্য এবং এক আত্মমর্যাদাশীল জীবনের স্বপ্ন।

তাঁর শিল্পের সেই শক্তি ও মানবিকতা প্রজন্ম থেকে প্রজন্মে বেঁচে থাকুক।

Tribute to Legendary Artist S. M. Sultan on His 102nd Birth Anniversary

S. M. Sultan, the extraordinary painter of Bengal’s soil, people, and working-class life, remains an iconic name in the history of Bangladeshi art. On his 102nd birth anniversary, the PinkAsia Limited family extends its deepest respect and heartfelt admiration to this legendary artist.

Through the power of his brush, S. M. Sultan portrayed the farmers, fishermen, and working people of rural Bangladesh with extraordinary dignity and grandeur. The muscular figures of farmers on his canvases were not merely representations of physical strength; they symbolized the profound bond between people and the land, the dignity of labour, self-respect, and the indomitable strength of human survival.

The people who produce our food, whose lives are deeply connected to our rivers and fields, and who quietly sustain and build our society—Sultan placed them at the very heart of his art. In his paintings, rural people were never objects of pity; they were powerful, dignified, resilient, and magnificent.

S. M. Sultan did not merely paint pictures—he painted the soil of Bengal, the strength of its people, the beauty of labour, and the dream of a life lived with dignity.

May the power, humanity, and timeless spirit of his art continue to live on from generation to generation.

The Bangladesh-German Film Festival is a collaborative cultural initiative between Bangladesh and Germany, dedicated to strengthening cinematic exchange and fostering cross-cultural dialogue through the medium of film. The festival serves as an international platform that brings together filmmakers, artists, students, and audiences from both countries, promoting mutual understanding, cultural cooperation, and creative collaboration.

As part of this international initiative, Dhaka Film Society has joined the festival as an Official Co-Partner.

Dhaka Film Society is one of the oldest and most active film organizations in Bangladesh. Since its establishment, the society has been committed to promoting film as an art form, a cultural expression, and a medium for social awareness. It has made significant contributions to the development of a healthy film culture by organizing screenings of acclaimed Bangladeshi and international films, seminars, workshops, discussions, and various cultural events.

The society also serves as a creative and educational platform for emerging filmmakers, students, and film enthusiasts. Through collaborations with international film festivals, embassies, cultural institutions, and other film societies, it has played an important role in promoting international cultural exchange and strengthening global partnerships through cinema.
