পারফিউমের ইতিহাস:

সুগন্ধির এই যাত্রা শুরু হয়েছিল হাজার বছর আগে—ফারাওদের মিশর থেকে পারস্যের গোলাপজল, ইউরোপের রাজপ্রাসাদ পেরিয়ে আজকের আধুনিক বিলাসিতায় এসে পৌঁছেছে। ঘ্রাণে লেখা এক ইতিহাস, প্রতিটি ফোঁটায় লুকিয়ে আছে সভ্যতার গল্প!

চলুন এবার সুগন্ধির ইতিহাসে সময়ের পাতাগুলো উল্টে দেখি…

১. প্রাচীন সভ্যতা:
পারফিউমের ব্যবহার শুরু হয় প্রাচীন মিশর থেকে, প্রায় ৪,০০০ বছর আগে। সেখানে সুগন্ধিকে ব্যবহার করা হতো ধর্মীয় আচার, মৃতদেহ সংরক্ষণ (mummification), এবং সৌন্দর্যচর্চায়।

২. ভারত ও পারস্য:
ভারতে আয়ুর্বেদে ফুল, গন্ধদ্রব্য, ধূপ ইত্যাদি দিয়ে তৈরি করা হতো প্রাকৃতিক সুগন্ধি। পারস্যে বিজ্ঞানী আল-কিন্ডি ও আভিসেনা (Ibn Sina) দুনিয়ায় প্রথমবারের মতো রোজ ওয়াটার বা গুলাব জল তৈরি করেন।

৩. গ্রিস ও রোমান সাম্রাজ্য:
সুগন্ধি ব্যবহারের প্রচলন ছিল গোসলের পরে এবং ভোজের সময়। গ্রিকরা এটা তাদের স্ট্যাটাস সিম্বল হিসেবে নিত।

৪. মধ্যযুগ ও ইউরোপ:
ইউরোপে perfume-এর উত্থান ঘটে ক্রুসেডারদের মাধ্যমে, যারা আরব দেশ থেকে সুগন্ধির জ্ঞান নিয়ে আসে। ১৪শ শতকে ফ্রান্স perfume শিল্পের কেন্দ্রবিন্দু হয়ে উঠে।

৫. আধুনিক যুগ:
১৮৮৯ সালে Guerlain প্রথম আধুনিক পারফিউম তৈরি করে। এরপর Chanel No.5, Dior, Tom Ford-এর মতো ব্র্যান্ডগুলো perfume কে বিলাসবহুল শিল্পে পরিণত করে।
