Conjunction কাকে বলে ? Conjunction কত প্রকার ও কি কি ?
Conjunction ( সংযোজন অব্যয় ) : যে Word দুটি শব্দ, বাক্য বা বাক্যংশকে যুক্ত করে তাকে Conjunction বলে । যেমন :
Mr Jamal is poor but honest.
Rasel and Radi are two brothers.
Asma and Alima are two sisters.
I shall wait here until you come back.
Do or die.
Rana or Rony is guilty.
[Note :এখানে but. and, until এবং or হল Conjunction. এগুলো দুটি বাক্য এবং বাক্যাংশকে যুক্ত করেছে ।]
Conjunction এর প্রকারভেদ : Conjunction তিন প্রকার ।
Coordinating Conjunction.
Subordinating Conjunction.
Correlative Conjunction.
Coordinate Conjunction:
Coordinate conjunctions such as and, but, or, nor, for, so, or yet were used to include individual words, phrases and independent clauses.
Example:
- She stood first and got a prize.
- He is sad but hopeful
- The snake is small but dangerous
- You must read or you fail in the exam
Subordinate Conjunction:
The subordinate clause such as since, because, though, as, till etc. were used to join an independent clause to a dependent clause.
The subordinate conjunctions were used before the dependent clauses. dependent clause can be placed before or after the independent clauses.
Example:
- He never gives up till he wins.
- Since she had the headache, she did
- Though he loved her cousin, he married another one.
- While calling several times, she never received a replay.
correlative conjunctions:
Correlative conjunctions are pairs of conjunctions such as both ... and, either ... ..or, neither ...... nor etc. used in the sentences to link words, phrases and clauses
correlative conjunctions connect with two words or phrases or clauses that are the same structure and are grammatically similar. That means nouns are linked to nouns, adjectives to adjectives, prepositional phrases to prepositional phrases.
Correlatives conjunctions are:
both ... .and, either ... .or, neither ... .nor, not only ... .but also, so ... .that, such ... .that, no sooner ... .than, hardly ... .When, scarcely ... .When, else ... than, else ... .but.
Example:
- He is both a fool and a knave (noun noun)
- She is both wise and good (adjective to adjective)
- He should either work or go (verb to verb)
- He behaved neither wisely nor kindly (adverb to adverb)
- He is so tired that he can not run
- Such was her beauty
- No sooner had I left
- Hardly had I left the room
- Scarcely had
- She has none else than her mother
- She has none else but her mother ..
Interjection (আবেগ সূচক অব্যয়):
যে word মনের আবেগ প্রকাশ করে, তাকে interjection বলে। Interjection একটি ভিন্নধর্মী Part of speech। অন্যান্য part of speech -এর মত বাক্যের অন্যান্য word বা অংশের সাথে Interjection -এর প্রত্যক্ষ সম্পৃক্ততা নেই ।
Alas! He is dead.
Interjection আবেগ বা Emotion হচ্ছে sudden change of mind। অর্থাৎ interjection মনের কোন হঠাৎ পরিবর্তিত অবস্থাকে ব্যক্ত করে। এ পরিবর্তিত অবস্থা আনন্দের বা দুখেঃর, যে কোন ধরনের হতে পারে।
Hurrah ! Today is holiday. (কী মজা- Interjection)
Alas ! He is dead. (হায়- Interjection)
Oh ! What a nice view. (আহা- Interjection)
Bravo ! You have done well.

preposition কাকে বলে এবং preposition এর কাজ কী ও preposition কত প্রকার কি কি ?

Preposition :- ( বাংলা এবং English ) যদি Word, কোন Noun বা Pronoun-এর পূর্বে বসে উক্ত Noun বা Pronoun-এর সাথে বাক্যের অন্য Word-এর সম্পর্ক নির্দেশ করে তাকে Preposition বলে।
যেমন – at, in, on, to, over, by, for, of, from, above, across, with, under, near, beneath, without, after, among, between, etc.

সুবিধার্থে নিম্নে preposition -এর প্রকারভেদ ও কোন preposition কোন প্রকারে ব্যবহূত হয়ে থাকে তা তুলে ধরা হল।

Kinds of prepositions:
1. Simple preposition: একটি মাত্র word দ্বারা গঠিত preposition হল simple preposition । যেমন :
(a) At, by, on, with এই preposition গুলো হল স্থিতি বাচক ক্রিয়া বা verbs indication rest in place-এর পরে বসে। যেমন : Rana is standing at the door now.
(b) To, from, for, of, through ও up এই preposition গুলো গতিবাচক ক্রিয়া বা verbs showing motion এর পরে বসে। যেমন: Raju comes from his village.
2. Double preposition : যখন দুটি Simple preposition যুক্ত হয়ে একটি একক preposition – এর ন্যায় ব্যবহূত হয় তখন তা হল double preposition. যেমন: in+to=into, with+in=within, on+to=onto, with+out=without, up+on=upon, out+of=out of ইত্যাদি।
3. Compound Preposition: Noun বা Adjective বা Adverb -এর পূর্বে simple preposition যুক্ত হয়ে যে preposition গঠিত হয় তা হল Compound preposition বলে।
4. Participle Preposition: Present participle বা past participle যদি preposition-এর মত ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন তা participle preposition. যেমন- Concerning, considering, judging, regarding, repecting ইত্যাদি participle preposition রৃপে বসতে পারে। Considering the circumstances you are right.
5. Phrase Preposition: দুই বা ততোধিক word -এর মিলনে গঠিত phrase যদি একটিমাত্র preposition -এর ন্যায় ব্যবহূত হয় তবে তা prepositional phrase বা phrasal preposition যেমন: On account of, on the point of, in front of, in spite of, by means of, by dint of, for the sake of, in order to.
6. Disguised Preposition: কখনও কখনও on, in ও of -এর পরিবর্তে a এবং o ব্যবহূত হয় এবং word -এর শুরুতে বসে। এরূপ preposition হল Disguised preposition বা ছদ্মবেশী যেমন: a hunting, ashore, ahead = a = on অর্থাৎ এখানে on পরিবর্তে a ব্যবহূত হয়েছে।
(a) Now, it is four o’clock. (o = of)
(b) Rana goes there once a week. (in a week)
7. Detached Preposition: Interrogative Preposition, Relative Pronoun এবং Interrogative adverbs এর সাথে সম্পর্কযুক্ত prepositions এদের আগে না বসে sentence এর শেষে বসে। তখন এ ধরণের prepositions কে Detached Preposition বলে।
যেমন:
(a) What are you looking for?
(b) Where did you come from?
এতক্ষণ আমরা জানলাম Definition of preposition, kind of preposition and its classified definitions and simple examples.

এখন আমরা জানবো কতিপয় Preposition ও এর ব্যবহার:
1. At, in: বড় স্থান বা সময়ের আগে in এবং ছোট স্থান বা সময়ের পূর্বে at বসে। যেমন:
(a) My friends lives at Nurpur in Rangpur.
(b) Usually I get up from bed at 6 a.m. in the morning.
লক্ষণীয়: সময়ের আগে in ব্যবহার করলে তারপর the বসে। কিন্তু at ব্যবহার করলে the বসে না।
2. In: অবস্থায়, অবস্থানে, স্থানে, ভাবে, মধ্যে, সময়ে এরূপ অর্থ বুঝাতে in বসে। যেমন:
(a) The students are in the room.
(b) Sajal succeeded in life in difficulties.
(c) Uzzal is in the midst way to school.
(e) Ovi serves in the army.
3. In, into –In দিয়ে আগে থেকে অবস্থান এবং into দিয়ে বাহির থেকে ভেতরের দিকে গতি বা অবস্থার পরিবর্তন বোঝায়। যেমন: (a) The chair is in the room.
(b) He is putting the pen into his pocket.
4. In, on, to –সীমান্তের ভেতরে হলে in ওপরে হলে on এবং বাহিরে হলে to বসে।
যেমন: (a) Comilla is in the east of Bangladesh.
(b) Tripura is on the east of Bangladesh.
5. In, after : অতীত কালের ব্যাপক সময় বুঝাতে (period of time) past tense-এ after এবং ভবিষ্যৎ কালের নির্দিষ্ট সময় (pint of time) in বোঝাতে ব্যবহূত হয়।
যেমন: (a) My friend will come from London in a week.
(b) He returned after two months.
6. On: ওপরে, ভাবে, অবস্থায়, কাজে, তে, তীরে, স্থানে, প্রতি, খেয়ে বাঁচা বোঝাতে on বসে। যেমন:
(a) The ball is on the table.
(b) The car is on hire.
(c) The cow live on grass.
(d) Dhaka stands on the Buriganga.
(e) This bike is on trail.
7. On, over : লাগালাগি অবস্থায় ওপরে বুঝালে over এবং একটু ফাঁকা রেখে ওপরে বুঝালে on ব্যবহূত হয়। যেমন:
(a) The book is on the table.
(b) The fan is over the head.
8. Since, from, for: নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের আগে since বা from এবং ব্যাপক সময়ের আগে for বসে। Since দ্বারা শুধু অতীতের নির্দিষ্ট সময় এবং from দ্বারা সব tense এর সময় বোঝায়। Since-এর আগে সর্বদা perfect বা perfect continuous tense বসে। যেমন:
(a) It has been raining since morning.
(b) He has been ill for a month.
(c) It has been raining for two hours.
9. In, by, before: ভবিষ্যৎ কালের ব্যাপক সময়ের আগে in এবং নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের আগে by বা before বসে। যেমন:
(a) I shall have finished reading the story book by or before 9 p.m.
(b) Habib will come in a month.
10. By, with: যে কাজ সম্পাদন করে তার আগে By এবং যার দ্বারা সম্পাদন করে তার আগে with বসে। যেমন:
(a) This poem was written by Kamal with a parker pen.
(b) The snake was killed by me with a stick.

এর ব্যবহার
১।কোন স্থানে আসা এবং যাওয়া বুঝালে ঐ স্থানের আগে to বসে।যেমনঃ i. He goes to school everyday. ii. He came to Bangladesh in 1971.
নিম্নের শব্দ গুলোর পর to বসে।
incline, harmful, beneficial, injurious, according, accustomed, add, admit, adjacent, affectionate, attend, bar, cling, belong, close, commit, common, known, confined, congenial, contrary, dedicate, devote, expose, exceptional, yeld, grateful, hostile, indebted, introduced, irrelevant, liable, loyal,object, prefer, preferable, senior,junior, superior,talk, inferior, prone, refer, reply, speak, lead, eager,willing.
বিঃদ্রঃ আসা এবং যাওয়া বুঝালেও home, abroad, here, there এর আগে to বসে না।
ব্যতিক্রমঃ From here to there.
২।বাক্যে V+তে / র = to+V1. যেমনঃ i. He told me to read a book. ii.I have nothing to give you.
৩।ব্যক্তির কাছে বুঝালে তার আগে to বসে।যেমনঃ He came to me.
৪।অনুসারে বুঝাতে to বসে।যেমনঃ The food is to me test.
৫।সীমানার বাইরে বুঝাতে to বসে।যেমনঃ Japan is to the east of our country.
৬।পর্যন্ত বুঝাতে to বসে।যেমনঃ They fought to the last.
৭।পরিমান / হার বুঝাতে to বসে।যেমনঃ There are 2.54 c.m. to an inch.
এর ব্যবহার
১।অবস্থান বুঝাইতে নাম উল্লেখিত ছোট স্থানের আগে যেমনঃ গ্রাম, এলাকা, মহল্লা ও ছোট শহরের আগে at বসে।যেমনঃ
at Kashipur, at Chashara
২। সময় বুঝাইতে at বসে। যেমনঃ I go to bed at 10 o’ clock.
৩।অবস্থা বুঝাইতে at বসে। যেমনঃ The country is at war now.
৪।হার / গতি বুঝাইতে at বসে। যেমনঃ Iffat was driving the car at 100 kilometers per hour.
৫।দায়িত্ব বুঝাইতে at বসে। যেমনঃ You must repair it at your own cost.
৬।দূরত্ব বুঝাইতে at বসে। যেমনঃ Dhaka is at 50 kilometers from here.
৭।বয়স বুঝাইতে at বসে। যেমনঃ He lost his father at 10.
৮।দিক বুঝাইতে at বসে। যেমনঃ He pointed the gun at him.
নিম্নের শব্দ গুলোর পর to বসে।
arrive, astonished, annoyed, envy, fire, knock, shame, smile, laugh, surprised, louch, wonder, alarm, jeer.
এর ব্যবহার
১।কোন বিষয় বা ভাষায় বুঝালে তার আগে in বসে। যেমনঃ in English, in Accounting, in Arabic.
২।বড় স্থান বুঝাতে in বসে। যেমনঃ We live in Bangladesh.
৩।সময়ের ক্ষেত্রে ( মাস / বছর / ঋতুর নাম ) বুঝাতে in বসে। যেমনঃ We won independence in December in 1971.
৪।ক্ষেত্র বুঝাতে in বসে। যেমনঃ I am unable to help you in this regard.
৫।অবস্থা বুঝাতে in বসে। যেমনঃ He is in a good health.
৬।বিবেচনা বুঝাতে in বসে। যেমনঃ You have to do it in your own interest.
৭।পেশার ক্ষেত্র বুঝাতে in বসে। যেমনঃ He has been in politics.
৮।মাধ্যম বুঝাতে in বসে। যেমনঃ You have to pay the bill in cash.
৯।অনুপাতের ক্ষেত্র বুঝাতে in বসে। যেমনঃ In England, one in three enters higher education.
নিম্নের শব্দ গুলোর পর in বসে।
expert, excel, indulge, succeed, believe, assist, interested, consist (নিহিত অর্থে), lie, encourage, grory, persist, rich, trade.
এর ব্যবহার
১।সময়ের আগে ধরে / যাবৎ / ব্যাপিয়া বুঝাইতে for বসে। যেমনঃ It has been raining for two hours.
২।জন্য বুঝাইতে for বসে। যেমনঃ What can I do for you?
৩।সাহায্য অর্থে বুঝাইতে for বসে। যেমনঃ Would you please do it for me?
৪।কারন বুঝাইতে for বসে। যেমনঃ Rajshahi is famous for its mangoes.
৫।সমর্থন বুঝাইতে for বসে। যেমনঃ Are you for the proposal?
৬।মূল্য বুঝাইতে for বসে। যেমনঃI bought this pen for 20 taka.
৭।বিনিময় বুঝাইতে for বসে। যেমনঃ You will get a coupon for every 100 taka you pay.
নিম্নের শব্দ গুলোর পর for বসে।
compensate, ask, affection, appetite, bound, care, desire, long, fit, search, seek, thirst, zeal, zest.
এর ব্যবহার
১। কারো নিকট হইতে অথবা কোন স্থান হইতে বুঝাইলে ঐ “হইতে” কথাটির জন্য ব্যক্তি বা স্থানের আগে from বসে। যেমনঃ
আমার নিকট হইতে = from me.
ঢাকা থেকে = From Dhaka.
i. The man come from abroad. ii. Don’t get down from a running bus.
নিম্নের শব্দ গুলোর পর from বসে।
refrain, resist, obstrain, prohibited, protect, prevent, preserve, aloof, deferent, suffer.
এর ব্যবহার
১।সম্পর্ক বুঝাতে of বসে। যেমনঃ I know nothing of it.
২।অধিকার / মালিকানা বুঝাতে of বসে। যেমনঃ It is the house of Mr. Khan.
৩।উৎপন্ন / উদ্ভুত অর্থ বুঝাতে of বসে। যেমনঃ He comes of a respectable family.
৪।উপকরণ বুঝাতে of বসে। যেমনঃ The house is made of stone.
৫।কারন বুঝাতে of বসে। যেমনঃ The young boy of cholera.
নিম্নের শব্দ গুলোর পর of বসে।
fond, sure, conscious, aware, inform, proud, boast, capable, deprieve, devoid, accused, charged, advantage, dull, afraid, approve, bereft, cause, consist(গঠিত অর্থে), cure, in the habit, in favour, envious, fear, full, ignorant, get rid, jealous, shortage.
এর ব্যবহার
১।নদীর তীরে বুঝাতে on বসে। যেমনঃ Dhaka is on the Buriganga.
২।কোন কিছুর উপরে সংলগ্ন বুঝাতে on বসে। যেমনঃ The book is on the table.
৩।Floor এর সংখ্যা বুঝাতে on বসে। যেমনঃ The office is on the 4th floor.
৪।সীমানার উপর বুঝাতে on বসে। যেমনঃ The Buriganga is on the south of Dhaka.
৫।বার / তারিখের পূর্বে এবং দিবসের আগে বুঝাতে on বসে। যেমনঃ He will come back on Sunday on the 5th May.
৬।সম্বন্ধে বুঝাতে on বসে। যেমনঃ He wrote an essay on the cow.
৭।নির্ভরতা বুঝাতে on বসে। যেমনঃ We live on rice.
৮।অনুসারে বুঝাতে on বসে। যেমনঃ He has taken leave on medical advice.
৯।সময়ের বর্ণনা বুঝাতে on বসে। যেমনঃ The river looks beautiful on a moonlit night.
নিম্নের শব্দ গুলোর পর on বসে।
congratulate, comment, pride, rely, bestowed, insist, determined, depend, impose, reflect, take pity.
এর ব্যবহার
১।কোন উপায় বা পদ্বতির মাধ্যমে বুঝাইতে তার আগে by বসে। যেমনঃ By hard labour.
২।পাশে বুঝাতে by বসে। যেমনঃ He sat by me.
৩। মাধ্যম বুঝাতে by বসে। যেমনঃ Nipu achieved success by determination.
৪।পথ অর্থে বুঝাতে by বসে। যেমনঃ I shall travel by road.
৫।শপথ নেয়া বুঝাতে by বসে। যেমনঃ I swear by almighty Allah.
৬।Passive Form-এ by বসে। যেমনঃ The work was done by me.
৭পরিমাপ বুঝাতে by বসে। যেমনঃ The room is 12 feet by 10 feet.
৮সময়(সুনির্দিষ্ট) বুঝাতে by বসে। যেমনঃ He will come back by 5 pm.
৯।হার বুঝাতে by বসে। যেমনঃ They are improving day by day.
১০।কারো সম্পর্কে জানতে অর্থ বুঝাতে by বসে। যেমনঃ He is an American by birth.

২।অবস্থার পরিবর্তন বুঝাতে into বসে। যেমনঃ Water is changed into snow.
৩।সংঘর্ষ বুঝাতে into বসে। যেমনঃ The truck crashed into a parked car.
৪।সংখ্যায় ভাগ হওয়া বুঝাতে into বসে। যেমনঃ They were divided into three groups.
৫।নির্দেশ বুঝাতে into বসে। যেমনঃ Speak clearly into the microphone.
এর ব্যবহার
১।উপরে বুঝাতে above বসে। যেমনঃ The water came above our knees.
২।অবস্থান বুঝাতে above বসে। যেমনঃ The sun is above our head now.
৩।পরিমাণে বুঝাতে above বসে। যেমনঃ Present temperature is above average.
৪।এতটাই সৎ / ভালো বুঝাতে above বসে। যেমনঃ Hemani is above suspicion.
৫।অতিমাত্রা বুঝাতে above বসে। যেমনঃ I couldn’t hear him above the noise of the traffic.
এর ব্যবহার
১।সম্পর্কে / বিষয়ে বুঝাতে about বসে। যেমনঃ I knew something about it.
২।চারদিকে বুঝাতে about বসে। যেমনঃ The runners were running about the circle.
৩।উপলক্ষ বুঝাতে about বসে। যেমনঃ He came here about the marriage ceremony.
৪।প্রায় / কাছাকাছি বুঝাতে about বসে। যেমনঃ He has lost about 1 lac taka.

১।পরে বুঝাতে after বসে। যেমনঃ He came after me.
২।অসংখ্যবার বুঝাতে after বসে। যেমনঃ I’ve told him time after not to do that.

৪।ব্যাপক সময় বুঝাতে after বসে। যেমনঃ He returned home after a month.
৫।ঠিক পরবর্তী কোন কিছু বুঝাতে after বসে। যেমনঃ Issa is the tallest after Mimi.
৬।মোটের উপর বুঝাতে after বসে। যেমনঃ After all, he is a good boy.
৭।বিপরিত ঘটনা বুঝাতে after বসে। যেমনঃ The house is pleasantly cool after the extreme heat outside.

২।সম্মুখে / সামনে বুঝাতে before বসে। যেমনঃ He stood before me.
৩।তূলনামূলক ভাবে আগে / বিশেষ গুরুত্ব বুঝাতে before বসে। যেমনঃ He puts his work before everything.

১। কিছুর মধ্যে( চারদিক বেষ্টিত ) বুঝাতে among বসে। যেমনঃ There is a house among the trees.
২।দু’য়ের অধিকের মধ্যে বুঝাতে among বসে। যেমনঃ Divided the mangoes among the three boys.

২।ছোট / কম পরিমান / বয়স বুঝাতে under বসে। যেমনঃ i. He is under 20. ii. He earns under 5000.
৩।অধীনে আর্থ বুঝাতে under বসে। যেমনঃ The building is under construction.
৪।অবস্থা বুঝাতে under বসে। যেমনঃ He is under sentence to death.

১।দুইয়ের মধ্যে বুঝাতে between ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমনঃ i. He stood between his two brothers. ii.Divide the mango between two sisters.

এর ব্যবহার
১।‘হইতে’ অর্থে poinr of time এর পূর্বে since বসে। যেমনঃ since 1971, since Sunday, since June.

১।পাশে বুঝাতে by এর মত beside বসে। যেমনঃ beside me, beside the man, beside you.
Through এর ব্যবহার
১।ভিতর / মধ্য দিয়ে বুঝাতে Through বসে। যেমনঃ through the forest, through struggle.

১।আড়াআড়ি ভাবে / অপর পার্শ্বে বুঝাতে across বসে। যেমনঃ i. Go across the street, ii. My house is just across the road.

১।দূরে / বিচ্ছিন্ন অর্থে off বসে। যেমনঃ i. Be off from here, ii. Swithch the fan off.

১।এছাড়াও বুঝাইতে besides বসে। যেমনঃ I have another pen besides this.

বাহির থেকে ভিতরে into ব্যবহার করো,

Preposition না বুঝলে মুড থাকবে off।

through (বাধা থাকলে)।
এ পাশ থেকে ওপাশে যেতে হয় across,
(বাধা না থাকলে)।

Preposition শিখলে নেই কোনো

Adverb কাকে বলে ???
: যে Word দ্বারা verb, Adjective, Preposition, Conjunction বা অন্য কোন Adverb কে বিশেষিত করে তাকে Adverb বলে। যেমন- Daily, Today, Yesterday, Tomorrow, Now, Then (তখন), Late, Soon, slowly, Well, Here, Already, Always, Never, Ever, Sometimes, Quite, After, Before, Ago etc.

কিভাবে/কখন/কোথায় দ্বারা verb কে প্রশ্ন করলে যে উত্তর পাওয়া যাই তাই adverb.
[N.B: Adjective এর সাথে ly যোগ করলে Adverb হয়। আবার Noun এর সাথে ly যোগ করলে Adjective হয়।]

কিছু adverb (always, never, sometimes) sentence এ p.v এর আগে বসে।সে সর্বদা সত্য কথা বলে।

Adverb + a.v + sub + p.v + বাকি অংশ।
সব সময়ই সে সত্য কথা বলে। (সব সময় + ই জোর দিচ্ছে)

Verb কাকে বলে? Verb কত প্রকার ও কি কি?

Sentence এ ব্যবহৃত যে সব Word দ্বারা কোন কাজ করাকে বোঝায় তাকে Verb বলে।

Verb এর প্রকারভেদ : Verb দুই প্রকার।
যথা :

1. Finite Verb (সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া) : যে সব Verb দ্বারা বক্তার বক্তব্য সম্পূর্ণরূপে শেষ হয়ে যায় তাকে Finite Verb বলে।

Example :
I go to school.
Kamal plays football.
Finite Verb এর বৈশিষ্ট্য :
- Sentence এর অর্থ সম্পূর্ণরূপে প্রকাশ পায়।বক্তার বক্তব্য পূর্ণাঙ্গররূপে ব্যক্ত করে।
- Subject এর Person, Number, Tense অনুযায়ী ভিন্ন ভিন্ন হয়।

Finite এর প্রকারভেদ :
Finite Verb দুই প্রকার। যথা :

a. Principal Verb (প্রধান ক্রিয়া) : যে Verb নিজেই স্বাধীনভাবে অন্য Verb এর সাহায্য ছাড়াই ক্রিয়া সম্পাদন করে তাকে Principal Verb বলে।
Example :
You go
They play in the field.

Principal Verb এর প্রকারভেদ :
Principal Verb দুই প্রকার। যথা :

I. Transitive Verb (সকর্মক ক্রিয়া) :
যে সমস্ত Verb এর Object বা কর্ম থাকে তাদেরকে Transitive Verb বলে।
Example :
The baby is drinking milk.
I have bought a book.
Transitive Verb এর বৈশিষ্ট্য :
- Subject এর পরে বসে
- প্রতিটি Verb এর পরে এক বা একাধিক Object থাকে।
- Tense ও Subject এর Person, Number অনুযায়ী এদের রূপের পরিবর্তন ঘটে।

II. Intransitive Verb (অকর্মক ক্রিয়া) : যে Verb এর Object বা কর্ম থাকে না তাদেরকে Intransitive Verb বলে।
Example :
The girl went to school.
Birds fly in the sky.
Intransitive Verb এর বৈশিষ্ট্য :
- এরা প্রায়ই Sentence এর শেষে বসে।
- এদের পরে কোনো Object থাকে না।
- Tense ভেদে Subject এর Person ও Number অনুযায়ী এদের রূপের পরিবর্তন ঘটে।

b. Auxiliary Verb (সাহায্যকারী ক্রিয়া) : Sentence এ ব্যবহৃত যে সব Verbs Principal Verbs এর ভাব ও অর্থ সম্পূর্ণরূপে প্রকাশ করার জন্য Principal Verbs কে সহায়তা করে, সে সকল Verb কে Auxiliary Verb বলে।

Auxiliary Verb এর বৈশিষ্ট্য :
- Auxiliary Verbs Sentence এ ব্যবহৃত হয়ে নিজে কোন অর্থ প্রকাশ করে না।
- Auxiliary Verbs Sentence এর ভাব ও অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে Principal Verb কে সহয়তা করে।
- Auxiliary Verbs Tense, Voice ও Mood এর রূপ গঠনের জন্য Principal Verb কে সহয়তা করে।

Auxiliary Verb এর তালিকা :
am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been, have, has, had, shall, should, will, would, may, might, can, could, do, does, did, used (to), ought (to), dare (to)

Auxiliary Verb এর প্রকারভেদ :
Auxiliary Verb সমূহকে দুই ভাগে ভাগ করা যায়। যথা :

I. Primary Auxiliaries/Tense Auxiliaries :
যে Verb গুলোকে বাক্যে Helping বা Auxiliary এবং কখনো কখনো Ordinary Verb হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় তাদেরকে Primary Auxiliaries/Tense Auxiliaries বলে।

Primary Auxiliaries/Tense Auxiliaries গুলো নিম্নরূপ :
Verb to be : am, is, are, was, were
Verb to have : have, has, had
Verb to do : do, does, did

II. Modal Auxiliaries : ক্রিয়া সম্পাদনের ক্ষেত্রে Mood বা ধরণ বুঝানোর জন্য যে Auxiliaries ব্যবহৃত হয় সেগুলোকে Modal Auxiliaries বলে।
Modal Auxiliaries গুলো নিম্নরূপ :

shall, should, will, would, may, might, can, could, used (to), ought (to), dare (to)

2. Non-finite Verb (অসমাপিকা ক্রিয়া) : যে Verb দ্বারা কোন বাক্যের অর্থ সম্পূর্ণ প্রকাশ পায় না এবং Subject এর Number ও Person দ্বারা যে Verb এর কোন রূপের পরিবর্তন হয় না তাকে Non-finite Verb বলে।

Non-finite Verb এর প্রকারভেদ :
Non-finite Verb তিন ভাগে বিভক্ত।
যথা :

a. Gerund : Gerund হল verb+ing যার মধ্যে Noun ও Verb এর শক্তি কাজ করে। একে Double Parts of Speech ও বলা হয়।
Example :
Swimming is a good exercise.
Sleeping is necessary to life.
She is fond of reading poems.
b. Participle : Verb যে রূপ একসঙ্গে Verb ও Adjective এর কার্য সম্পন্ন করে তাকে Participle বলে।

Participle এর প্রকারভেদ :
Participle তিন প্রকার।
যথা :
I. Present Participle : Verb এর ing form যখন Verb ও Adjective এর কাজ করে তখন তাকে Present Participle বলে।
Example :
The book is interesting.
II. Past Participle :যে Participle দ্বারা অতীতে কোন কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়েছে বোঝায় তাকে Past Participle বলে।
Example :
I got a decorated room.
She had gone there.
III. Perfect Participle : যদি Verb এর Past Participle এর পূর্বে having যুক্ত হয়ে Adjective ও Verb এর কার্য সম্পাদন করে কখন তাকে Perfect Participle বলে।
Example :
The sun having risen, the fog disappeared.

c. Infinitive : Verb এর Present form এর অাগে to বসিয়ে Infinitive গঠন করা হয়।
Example :
To tell a lie is a great sin.
I come to see.......।
