I can only see her hanging body through my screen.

I canโ€™t do anything.

I canโ€™t even know why she did it.

5 years ago, there was a boy who met a girl. She was from a different country, a different timezone. There was a day-night difference between their lives, but they still loved each other.

The girl recorded everything, her eating, her random talks, her bittersweet moments, and uploaded it to a private platform where only the boy could see it. The boy did the same.

It felt like they were living just to record themselves and share those moments.

Their only dream was to meet each other one day.

But maybe fate had written a different ending?

One day, the boy opened the platform. A new video was still uploading. He waited patiently, just to see her one more time, to hear about her day.

When the upload finished and he opened the videoโ€ฆ

he saw her hanging from the ceiling fan.

He couldnโ€™t believe his eyes.

His vision blurred without him realizing it.

Tears fell before he understood he was crying.

With shaking hands, he tried to call her.

Unreachable. she was offline everywhere.

He rushed to downstairs but accidentally fell.

25 day's passed.

He lay on the ground, still thinking only about her and seeing her videos.

He forgot to eat.

Forgot to drink.

Forgot how to live.

Then one day, he heard a knock on the door.

He hurried to open it, thinking maybe it was all a prank. Maybe she came to surprise him.

But there was no one.

As he was about to close the door, he heard a familiar voice.

โ€œReally?โ€

She held his hand.

They went to a restaurant. She said she wanted to eat ramen. He smiled and ordered. They both laughed while eating. It felt like flowers blooming in the middle of a desert.

They went to a park. They laughed more than ever.

He finally proposed to her with a rose in his hand. People around them were smiling, taking pictures.

She grabbed his hand and ran.

As dusk fell, they lay on the rooftop of his house, watching the sunset. Experiencing that much happiness together, he hugged her tightly and cried like a baby.

He didnโ€™t need to hold back his tears anymore.

Through his crying, he asked,

โ€œWhy did you do it? Why...?โ€

There was no reply.

Because there was no one.

A desert canโ€™t grow flowers.

If you see flowers in a desert... maybe itโ€™s just your imagination.

End.
