খুলনা শহরের প্রাণকেন্দ্রে লোয়ার যশোর রোডে অবস্থিত বাড়িটি। এ বাড়িটি বর্তমানে সানফ্লাওয়ার নার্সারি স্কুল, লোকমুখে শোনা যায় দেশ ভাগের আগে এই বাড়িটির মালিক ছিল জমিদার শৈলেন চন্দ্র ঘোষ এর, দেশ ভাগের প্রাক্কালে সম্পত্তি বিনিময় করেছিলেন খুলনার পিকচার প্যালেস এর মালিক দীন মোহাম্মদ এর সাথে, তার বাড়ি আর সম্পত্তি ছিল কলকাতার ব্যারাকপুর/ডায়মন্ড হারবারে।

তৎকালীন পূর্ব বঙ্গ তথা আজকের বাংলাদেশের খুলনা জেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান ছিলেন জমিদার শৈলেন চন্দ্র ঘোষ। একদম তার বাড়ির সীমানা দেবেছে যেখানে ‘উল্লাসিনী’ হলে বহুকাল ধরে লাইব্রেরি দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল এবং আজও বিদ্যমান, তিনি একই জায়গায় উল্লাসিনী হল প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছিলেন, এবং পরবর্তীতে সিনেমা হল বানান। তার মায়ের নাম ছিল নীলা, ১৯৪২ সালে নিজেই একটি সিনেমা হল নির্মাণ করেন। মায়ের নামানুসারে সেটির নাম দেওয়া হয় ‘নীলা হল’। ১৯৪৭ এ দেশভাগের সময় শৈলেন ঘোষ পরিবারের কলকাতা চলে যান।
