How to Kill a Witch: A Guide for the Patriarchy

This book is a history of those poor souls who were wrongfully accused of being witches, tortured mercilessly, and then ousted from society. Religious leaders would call them “witches,” and they would sneer as they trussed up their victims, deprived them of sleep, and cast them onto a pyre. Mitchell and Venditozzi juxtapose the past, present, and future in this tribute to those wrongfully accused. It attempts to give them a voice, and to deliver whatever justice is still possible. It is not just a plea for gender equality; it is a demand to stop killing our women. Because in a society more divided than ever, the idea of witch trials doesn’t feel that far off.

Missed your chance during our last open mic? Well, good news! We are back baby! Whether you are a musician, performer, stand-up comedian, writer, or just someone who likes to stare out at a crowd of people and hoping for applause, we have a second edition of our Luddites Open Mic coming your way. It's all happening Saturday, October 10th, from 20h30-22h30!

Worthy of note:
*Your performance can last a maximum of 4 minutes, otherwise you'll be pulled offstage with an absurdly long shepherd's hook
*Sign up via the google form link in our bio.
* Bring yourself, some friends, and something to perform (music, poetry, writing, and so on).
* There will be a maximum of 15 performers, so space is limited.
* As a spectator you can just walk in.
* There will be a 15 minute break in the middle for refreshments.

Since the last edition was such a success, Luddites is proud to announce the return of The Sprayed Edges Workshop.

Yes, you heard that right! On Thursday, 17 September, from 20h30-22h30, we will be hosting Cindy H.A.'s sprayed edges workshop for the second time! Tickets are limited, so jump on it while you can.

FAQ

Do I spray my own book?
Yes! It is recommended to bring your own book. Of course, you're also welcome to purchase a new book at Luddites if you prefer, but we do recommend using a paperback because they are generally easier to work with.

Can you use templates or do you have to create everything yourself?
You don't have to create everything from scratch. Plenty of tools will be provided, including templates, stamps, and even a portable printer that allows you to transfer designs onto special transfer paper. There are lots of different options, so no artistic experience is required.

Do I need to prepare a pattern?
You're welcome to prepare a design beforehand if you already have something specific in mind, but it's definitely not necessary. There will be plenty of time during the workshop to create and transfer your design. Looking for inspiration beforehand can be helpful.
