We are pleased to present our catalogue for the Berlin Rare Book Fair 2026.
A selection of 59 highlights will be on display at our stand in Berlin.

Among the highlights: Chess classics by López de Segura (1584), Greco (1714) and Philidor (1825); the first Dutch translation of Brant’s Narrenschiff (1635); and conchology, including a very special copy of Gualtieri (1742), as well as Ellis (1753), Klein (1753) and the Amboinische Raritäten-Cammer (1766).

First editions of Goethe, Charlotte Brontë, Charles Baudelaire and Franz Kafka; special editions of Lewis Carroll, Aragon, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Robert Hans van Gulik and J.R.R. Tolkien.

Works illustrated by Rops, Renoir, Emil Orlik, Karel Maes, Foujita, René Magritte, Jos Leonard, M.C. Escher, Chillida and Andy Warhol. Avant-garde periodicals including Haro!, Le Sens Propre and De Stijl, with contributions by Baeyens, Masereel, Magritte, Mondrian, Rietveld and others; artists’ books and editions by Art et Action, Aubertin/Chopin, Matta-Clark, Paladino, Ruscha, Fontana, Broodthaers and Alechinsky.

Photography by Shinzō Fukuhara, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Krasnoshchok and Cristina De Middel. Signed works by Martin Heidegger and Aram Khachaturian, as well as books and editions enriched with an additional drawing, text or object by Andy Warhol, Anish Kapoor and Henri Chopin.

And finally: Ken Friedman ‘composes’ The Sudden Death of Music in an original manuscript of 1971, while Le Corbusier composes his Poème électronique in the extraordinary working copy of the Minutage définitif des ambiances et images, dated 2 March 1958.

And yes, we have left out a few things here and there — there should still be something to discover.

Ha, het is zover!

Boekhandel de Slegte opent komende zaterdag een nieuw antiquariaat in de Lange Nieuwstraat in Antwerpen. Zaakvoerder Kris Landuyt heeft er zorgvuldig een collectie oude en zeldzame geschriften verzameld.
