The BANK Fax-Bak Service - Lenz Press 2021

Between 1998 and 1999, the London-based art collective BANK operated The BANK Fax-Bak Service. For the project, the group’s members, Simon Bedwell, John Russell and Milly Thompson proof-read and copy-edited more than 300 press releases published by galleries in London and New York. The procedure was simple: after adding their mocking corrections, the artists faxed the promotional texts back to the respective galleries. The BANK Fax-Bak Service exposes the art market’s (ongoing) sisyphean effort to legitimize itself through boasting, self-important and nonsensical language. Published in collaboration with Treize (Paris), this volume is a comprehensive record of BANK’s notorious project from the late 1990s.

Tenant of Culture - Soft Opening 2020

Hendrickje Schimmel aka Tenant of Culture’s first monographic publication, published by Soft Opening Gallery in collaboration with Charles Asprey. The book catalogues the artist’s development via a conclusive overview of both early and more recent work, accompanied by an essay from curator Jeppe Ugelvig titled “Tenant of Culture, Ragpicker of Fashion History” and an interview with Tenant of Culture’s ongoing collaborator 650mAh. While the essay interrogates the references, materials and processes that underpin the artist’s sculptural assemblages, the interview concentrates on public workshops held to encourage the exchange of ideas and techniques for garment recycling and upcycling.

Peter Sutherland - Street Lords - Triangle Books 2021

Photographs taken between 1998 and 2020 when Peter Sutherland was staying in New- York.

"One thing that I love about these images is the vibe you can capture when you only take one or two frames, the background or lighting or any of that photography type stuff matters less, but you still end up capturing something intimate. This is my love letter to NYC, as well as many other cities I’ve loved over the years. And to you guys. Thanks". – XO Peter

Albert Oehlen - Martin Kippenberger Fiekjournalen - Ystad Konstmuseum 2000

The book juxtaposes candid pictures of the two artists, with reproductions of Albert Oehlen’s sketches, paintings, and video-stills. The two had long collaborated before Martin Kippenberger’s death, building a reputation as enfants terribles of the German art scene in the decades before the turn of the century, confronting what they perceived as a torpid and arrested artistic scene: what they called a "death of painting" in collective experience. As shown in this book, their work became immersed in concept-production and the outrageous personality of their collaboration.

Guy de Cointet - A Captain From Portugal - Self-published 1972

"A Captain From Portugal" is the first artist's book published by the late Parisian-born, Los Angeles-based conceptual and performance artist Guy de Cointet. It is comprised of primarily rune-like letterforms of a self-devised language with an example of music, and what appears to be a line of hieroglyphics thrown in. A short story entirely in cipher.
Edition of 500.
Will be soon republished by Primary Information.
