Voor deze beurs kiezen we bewust voor wol uit België en de buurlanden. Zelfs de breinaalden komen van dichtbij: uit Duitsland! 🇩🇪

Pour ce salon, nous avons choisi des laines de Belgique et des pays voisins. Même les aiguilles à tricoter viennent de tout près : d’Allemagne ! 🇩🇪

Greener Wool
En 2016, après deux décennies de travail en télécommunications, la mondialisation a frappé et Frank s’est retrouvé avec un peu de temps libre. Le tricot est pour lui un passe-temps depuis de nombreuses années et il a toujours eu du mal à trouver le bon fil. Aucunes boutiques n’étaient spécialisées dans les matières écologiques et durables. Il a donc créé Greener Wool, avec le projet de produire et de vendre des fils locaux et/ou écologiques, si possible dans un magasin, et en tout cas en ligne. La vie est imprévisible, Frank a retrouvé un travail à plein temps tout en gardant sa boutique de laine en ligne avec beaucoup de fils certifiés biologiques et son propre fil local de race unique : Mergelland. Qui sait ce que l’avenir nous réserve ?

In 2016, after two decades working in telecommunications, globalization hit and Frank found himself with a bit of free time on his hands. Knitting had been a hobby for him for many years, and he'd always had trouble finding the right yarn. There were no stores specializing in ecological and sustainable materials. So he set up Greener Wool, with the idea of producing and selling local and/or ecological yarns, if possible in a store, and certainly online. Life is unpredictable, so Frank went back to work full-time while keeping his online wool store with lots of certified organic yarns and his own local single-breed yarn: Mergelland. Who knows what the future holds ?

In 2016, na twee decennia in de telecommunicatie te hebben gewerkt, sloeg de globalisering toe en had Frank wat vrije tijd over. Breien was al jaren een hobby voor hem en hij had altijd moeite om het juiste garen te vinden. Er waren geen winkels die gespecialiseerd waren in ecologische en duurzame materialen. Dus richtte hij Greener Wool op, met het idee om lokale en/of milieuvriendelijke garens te produceren en te verkopen, indien mogelijk in een winkel en zeker online. Het leven is onvoorspelbaar, dus Frank ging weer fulltime aan het werk terwijl hij zijn online wolwinkel behield met veel gecertificeerde biologische garens en zijn eigen lokale single-breed garen: Mergelland. Wie weet wat de toekomst brengt ?

🇳🇱 De voorbereidingen voor Made in Wool 2025 zijn volop bezig! ✨ Onze Mergellandwol krijgt daar natuurlijk een plekje. Deze wol komt van schapen die grazen in het Mergelland, een landschap dat mede door hun begrazing in stand wordt gehouden. 🧡
Sommige bollen hadden nog een jasje nodig! Hier alvast een voorproefje – en op de beurs kan je de wol zelf voelen, bekijken en meer leren over dit bijzondere ras. 🐑
🇫🇷 Les préparatifs pour Made in Wool 2025 battent leur plein ! ✨ Notre laine Mergelland y sera bien sûr présente. Elle provient de moutons qui pâturent dans le Mergelland, un paysage façonné et entretenu grâce à leur présence. 🧡
Certaines pelotes avaient encore besoin d'une ceinture ! Voici un petit aperçu – et au salon, vous pourrez toucher la laine, la voir de près et en apprendre plus sur cette race particulière. 🐑
🇬🇧 Preparations for Made in Wool 2025 are in full swing! ✨ Our Mergelland wool will be there of course. This wool comes from sheep grazing in the Mergelland region, helping to preserve the landscape. 🧡
Some balls still needed a band! Here’s a little preview – and at the fair, you’ll be able to touch the yarn, see it up close, and learn more about this unique breed. 🐑

VOOR SNELLE BESLISSERS - is gestopt met de productie van Lazy Linen. Ze brengen binnenkort een nieuwe sokkenwol op de markt. Dit is alles wat we nog op voorraad hebben.
