The record develops the language established on their debut, pushing it into new territory and shifting the perspective from that of the protagonists themselves to that of a narrator telling the story.

While the debut album was a story about the lives and emotions of the band’s members, “Hits Different” adopts the perspective of a narrator, giving the album a more cinematic structure. As on the first record, the story is never told explicitly. The track titles merely point the way, leaving space for listeners to bring their own emotions, imagination, and experiences to the music. Each track becomes another scene in a story that moves through a broad spectrum of emotions, from happiness and excitement to anxiety, tension, and disorientation. “INFORMEL emerged from the profound rupture of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and stands as a point of origin for the present-day SINSUKE FUJIEDA GROUP.

As regular performance activity came to a halt, Sinsuke Fujieda was given time to reconsider his own music at its deepest level and to ask himself, “What is the music I truly want to express now?” His answer was to return to jazz as his musical foundation and to pursue, through both composition and performance, the most intense music he could imagine within a single ensemble.

The album is reconstructed from a live recording made on 22 October 2020 at LIVE MUSIC JIROKICHI in Koenji, Tokyo—a formative performance from which the present-day SINSUKE FUJIEDA GROUP emerged, newly edited and reassembled from Fujieda’s perspective in 2026.

Rooted in spiritual jazz, modal jazz, improvisation, and chamber-like ensemble work, the album vividly captures the moment when the group’s distinctive musical language first emerged as a tangible reality in sound. The intensity of the musicians’ interplay had already reached what could be regarded as a complete form, creating a powerful sonic image and soundscape that could only have existed on that particular day, in that particular place.”…

FLOFLIZ - CENÁRIO

“The 10th-anniversary reissue of FloFilz’s breakthrough album “Cenário” from 2016. The gatefold cover includes newly designed artwork and an extended 16-page photo booklet by Robert Winter.
“Cenário” dropped at the height of the European beat scene and remains one of the defining albums of the genre. It’s a seminal work in FloFilz’s catalogue and hasn’t lost a bit of its magic. Or as Tom Misch recounts: „Beautiful album, full of great flips. In particular I remember hearing Dulce for the first time and being like damn I wish I’d made that!”

This album manifested FloFilz’s position as one of the most influential producers for jazz-driven hip-hop and soul of his generation. With “Dulce”, it also includes his commercially most successful track, which has been streamed more than 40 million times. Other highlights are “Taxi Bossa” and the two songs with mystical jazz-singer Olivia Wendlandt („Intro Azul“ & „Nuvem“).

Cenário is dedicated to the city of Lisbon and was the second release of FloFilz’s album series, which he started in 2012 with photographer Robert Winter and Melting Pot Music. They also visited Paris (Metronom, 2014), London (Transit, 2019) and Tokyo (Hagaki, 2025). “

Classic UK Dance/electro/Garage from 1995!

“Leftism is the debut studio album by English electronic music duo (now solo project) Leftfield, originally released in 1995 on Columbia Records. It contained a mixture of new tracks along with reworked versions of previous Leftfield singles. The album contains guest spots from musicians not associated with dance music at the time such as John Lydon from Public Image Ltd. (and formerly of S*x Pistols) and Toni Halliday from Curve. The album was described as progressive house, although some journalists found that label too limiting, suggesting the album incorporated many genres.

On its release, the album was well received from the British press with positive reviews from the NME and Q. The album was nominated for the Mercury Prize in. Critics have praised the album as one of the major album-length works of dance music, with Q referring to it as “the first truly complete album experience to be created by house musicians and the first quintessentially British one”.”

“Released on Polydor in 1972, He’s Coming captures vibraphonist Roy Ayers at a creative apex, as Ubiquity’s sound settled into the blend of jazz improvisation, funk rhythm, soul harmony, and spiritual import that would define his work throughout the decade. The album reflects Ayers’s deepening move toward a groove-centered musical language rooted in soul-jazz and early jazz-funk. Ayers is supported by a core ensemble that includes Harry Whitaker on electric piano, organ, and vocals; John Williams on bass, with Ron Carter featured on “We Live in Brooklyn, Baby”; David Lee Jr. and Billy Cobham on drums and percussion; guitarists Sam Brown and Bob Fusco; saxophonist Sonny Fortune; and percussionist Juma Santos. Tracks like “He’s a Superstar,” “Sweet Butterfly of Love,” and “Fire Weaver,” embody the record’s mix of urban narrative, spiritual reflection, and deep rhythmic. The Verve Vault series is always mastered from analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.”
