If I had €100 to make this bedroom feel warmer, I wouldn’t change the bed, the headboard or the lighting.
I’d add a generous linen bedspread.
Something thick and softly textured, in almost the same colour as the room.
It adds warmth, depth and that slightly undone feeling that makes a bedroom feel more inviting, without changing what already works.
Sometimes you don’t need to redecorate.
You just need to add another layer.

My favourite part of Maison&Objet? Finding what’s next.
Not necessarily the newest trend, the loudest piece or the thing everyone is talking about.
I’m looking for beautiful materials, clever details, craftsmanship and objects that feel right the moment you see them.
The kind of pieces that make a home more personal, and hopefully stay with you for years.
A few things caught my eye in Paris. Some may make their way to Babù. Some definitely won’t.
That’s part of the fun.

Quite the opposite.
Your home doesn’t need to be filled with decoration.

A photograph.
Something you found on a trip.
An object you simply love looking at.
That’s not clutter.
That’s character.
And it doesn’t need to happen all at once.
A home is collected, not completed.

I have a soft spot for ordinary objects made from extraordinary materials.
A fruit bowl is still a fruit bowl.
A coaster is still a coaster.
A wine cooler still has one very simple job.
But make it from marble, travertine or alabaster and suddenly the object becomes something you want to keep around for years.
I love that contrast.
Natural stone brings weight, texture, variation and a sense of permanence to things we normally don’t think twice about.
No need for complicated shapes or unnecessary decoration. Just a beautiful material, thoughtfully used.
Maybe that’s my kind of luxury: making the everyday feel a little more special.

When you run a small business, you notice these things.
A like is not just a like.
A tag is not just a tag.
A review is not just a review.
I love it when someone tells me they bought something from Babù Antwerp years ago and still absolutely love it.
Or when someone who follows me on social media suddenly sends me a message, not even about an order, just to ask something, share something or tell me about their home.
Those moments feel personal.
Because somewhere along the way, Babù Antwerp has become a tiny part of someone’s home story. A piece of stone on a table. A lamp that has moved houses. A cushion that’s still there years later.
And honestly, that is what matters most to me.
Not just selling beautiful things, but becoming a small part of the homes and stories they end up in. 🤍

Design inspiration from Da Nang
I stayed in a place that made me stop and look at how beautifully architecture, plants and natural materials can work together.
It reminded me of Gaudí, but translated into something even more contemporary. The same love for organic forms and sculptural architecture, but stripped of the ornament and complexity.
What stayed with me most was the use of greenery. Plants weren’t simply added to make the space beautiful. They created privacy, intimacy and little pockets of calm within a busy city.
A good reminder for our own homes too:
sometimes the most beautiful way to create a room within a room is simply to bring nature in. Saha Casa Boutique Hotel
