FRAGMENTS OF A JOURNEY
For the 13th anniversary of Sabai Gallery, we are presenting a special exhibition of contemporary amulets created by five female artists we have worked with throughout the years.

THE RED CHILi 🌶️
The small red chili pepper has long been cherished as a talisman of good fortune, vitality, passion, and life force. In Bulgarian tradition, it appears on survachki (New Year’s blessing sticks) and martenitsi (spring amulets), carrying wishes for strength, prosperity, health, and abundance. Its fiery form also evokes courage, desire and magnetic attraction.
As an amulet, the red chili pepper reminds us to embrace life with courage, to protect our inner fire, and to carry our passion with confidence wherever we go.
Nazar Talisman
The blue eye, known as the Nazar or Horus eye, is an ancient protective amulet believed to shield its wearer from the “evil eye,” envy, and negative energy. Traditionally, it is depicted as a series of concentric circles in deep blue, white, light blue, and black.
According to tradition, when someone directs envy, ill intentions, or negative energy toward you, the amulet absorbs that gaze, protecting its wearer from harm.
As a contemporary talisman, the Nazar serves as a quiet guardian—a reminder that true protection begins with inner balance. It invites us to move through the world with confidence, shielded from negativity while remaining open to light, kindness, and possibility.
