World Centric biodegradable and compostable deli containers are made from polylactic acid (PLA), which is derived from plants grown in the USA. Our biodegradable deli containers meet the most stringent scientific requirements for biodegradability and compostability. Even though they are as light and strong as plastic, they fully biodegrade when composted.

To distinguish our containers from plastic ones in municipal recycling/composting facilities, the phrases "Biocompostable" and "This cup is made from plants and is 100% compostable" are printed on the side.

Our plant fiber based products are made from wheatstraw fiber. Wheatstraw is not only an annually renewable resource, but can also be turned into products normally made from plastic or paper. Wheatstraw is the remaining plant material after the wheat grain and chaff have been extracted.

Our compostable clamshells are
• microwave and freezer safe, can be used for both hot and cold items
• soak proof
• have no plastic or wax lining
• handle hot liquids up to 220 Fahrenheit (moisture forms at the bottom for hot food items)
• fully compostable, sturdy and strong

Our biodegradable and compostable paper bowls are lined with NatureWorks Ingeo™ polylactic acid (PLA), which is derived from plants grown in the USA. Most cups you'll find on the market are lined with polyethylene and won't compost. Our bowls work perfect for hot foods up to 200 degrees F.
