Pottery is a messy business

A few months ago, I had the honorable pleasure of creating a very special pet urn for Diomné and Edgar, in loving memory of their precious angel baby, Suki.

Creating something to hold the memory of a beloved companion is such a deeply meaningful responsibility. Every little detail of this piece was made with Suki, and the love her family has for her, in mind. From her sweet face and forget-me-not flowers to the details in her collar, I wanted this urn to feel like more than a resting place, I wanted it to be a beautiful tribute to a life that was deeply loved.

Thank you, Diomné and Edgar, for trusting me with something so personal and precious. It was an absolute honor to create this piece for Suki.

A little look behind the scenes of making a mosquito coil holder:
✂️ Trimming removes extra clay and refines the shape.
✨ Burnishing smooths and polishes the surface using pressure and a smooth object. (spoon)
🪶 Stamping leaves my maker’s mark before the piece begins its journey to the kiln.
