Hi all - if we haven’t had the pleasure of meeting pr working together yet, my name is Kayla and I’m the gal behind
Full disclosure, if I could look like the first photo every single day, the moment I wake up, that would be lovely! But I had to add the second one to show you what I look like on a typical day! 😂
I am in my 30’s, a stay-at-home mama to 5 wonderful kids (the youngest being twins), a homeschooler, married to the man of my dreams, living in east Abbotsford in beautiful BC.
If you asked those close to me of what kind of person I am or what I am into, I’m sure you’d hear a lot about canning, creating and crafting, something about being a recycling maniac, resourceful and a plant hoarder in denial.
My gift basket venture began in 2018 when I had closed down my candle business because it had grown to the point where I either needed to find a brick and mortar shop or hire an employee or two. And with a young growing family, I wanted to be able to stay present and realistic with what our family needed and what I could sustain.
Now, I source lots of locally made goods and items from small businesses across Canada, helping the little guys, and I have the satisfaction of providing a service that brings unexpected joy to people. Creating is engrained in who I am and I absolutely love making unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for people local to me, while working with people from all over the world!
One of my beliefs is lessening our footprint on the planet - less garbage, more repurposing, more recycling and reusing. In my gifting business, this translates to zero cellophane or plastic wrap, using paper products for wrapping or stuffing, and adding real plants or foliage for garnish.
Another belief I stand on is that a gift shouldn’t be something “typical” or “boring”. It should be exciting, personalized; something that is meaningful and doesn’t require a card to share the thoughtfulness behind it. It is felt without words.
