What does market prep look like? First we go through our stock and make a list.
Decide which ones we want to change up.
Take inventory and figure out how many we need to make. Then we start designing our news ones, once we are happy with them we start the printing process. It takes 9 minutes to print one page!!! We can fit 3 mugs or one mug and one tumbler per page. While the printer is printing we heat up each mug and tumbler in the press to get any moisture off the surface. Once the printing is done we need to trim the paper to fit the mugs/tumblers. When the mugs/tumblers cool down then we apply each print to the cup, taping it down firmly in place, as centered as possible. Then we cook! We use a mug press and a tumbler press to transfer the design from the paper to the cup.
Did you know…. The cups have a special coating on them and we use a specific ink that actually transforms into a gas at the right temperature and infuses into the cup!!
Well after that process we let them cool down, unmask them and then get them all organized in their trays, relabeling any if applicable and then bring them to the market and set them up for sale!
