Our retreats are about so much more than how many scrapbook pages or projects we finish.

They’re about laughing with people who understand our love of paper and supplies.
They’re about sharing ideas, admiring what someone else is creating, borrowing the tool we forgot to pack and finally having time to do something just for ourselves.

Most of all, they’re about friendship, community and that wonderful feeling of belonging around a table of creative people.

Junk journal makers - our October retreat is for you too! 📚✂️

Imagine having the space to spread out your papers, book pages, fabric, lace, stamps, tags and all those wonderful little pieces you’ve been saving—without having to clear everything off the kitchen table halfway through.

Whether you want to begin a brand-new journal, add pockets and tuck spots, make embellishments or finally finish one of your works in progress, the retreat gives you uninterrupted time to create and plenty of inspiration from the crafty people around you.

We will also have a vendor dedicated to journals, with everything you could need to add to your collection. There will be make-and-takes to spark your creativity, teach you new techniques and perhaps inspire your next project!

Pack your favourite supplies, gather all those bits and pieces you’ve been collecting and come spend some wonderfully creative time with us.

The “BER” months really are the most wonderful months to craft!

There is something about the cooler days of September, October, November and December, settling back into a routine and the return of pumpkin spice that makes us want to pull out the paper, photographs and supplies and settle in to create.

Our October retreat is the perfect opportunity to do exactly that—uninterrupted creative time, plenty of space for your supplies and a wonderful group of crafty people to spend it with.

Sometimes I don’t think people realize what goes into hosting a creative retreat.

It’s so much more than booking a room and opening the doors.

Months of planning.
Setting up tables—sometimes more than once.
Countless emails and messages.
Worrying about every little detail.
Negotiating with the hotel.
Booking rooms.
Designing games, challenges, and activities.
Ordering supplies.
Creating table gifts.
Organizing prizes.
Marketing.
Answering questions.
Chasing payments.
Administration.
Website maintenance.
Taking financial risks.

Every retreat represents hundreds of hours of work behind the scenes before the first booking even arrives.

Just because I’m mostly quiet about the preparation and the time it takes doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. So much of what goes into creating an experience happens long before anyone walks through the doors. And honestly, I love creating these weekends and spending time with all of you.

If you’ve ever shared a Scrapbook Daze Events post, invited a friend, or simply left an encouraging comment, you’ve helped more than you probably realize.

Supporting creative events doesn’t always mean spending money. Sometimes it simply means helping people discover something wonderful.
