The workshop has been in a transitionary phase the past several months, most everything has been scrutinized over its value, worth and the real estate it occupies. It’s been a pretty cut throat process.
All of this has reason, I took a leap.
My algorithm is typically clogged with memes and thirst traps, but the occasional ad slips through that makes me raise my eyebrows. Enter the GweikeCloud M3 Ultra 6 in 1 CNC laser cutter/welder. This operates both CO2 and fibre lasers which opens up a smorgasbord of new materials, capabilities and outcomes. This machine boasts a working area of 39x52 which dwarfs my current laser but A LOT! I will soon have the capacity to cut sheets of plywood and mdf in a single pass, cut and engrave steel, stainless, aluminum and brass as well as laser weld much of the same. Even the fancy laser rust removal you’ve likely seen, I can do that!
I was fortunate to secure a loan from my financial institution, bit the bullet and made the largest purchase of my professional career. Even better, three weeks after I sent the large sum into the ether, I get an email from Creative Saskatchewan stating that my grant application had been approved! Thanks to their Business Improvement Grant, I was able to put a large dent against the loan! This is truly a dream scenario!
Thank you Creative Saskatchewan for the support on this, the Business Improvement Grant has made a huge difference to my business and my capacity as a working artist!
Now, we’re not quite operational yet, needing new electrical and a few bits and bobs before we start the engine, but I’d like to show how much space I’m losing to this and the recommended air compressor. Big things come from this small space.
I, still, ask my wife, “How did this happen?” and she mostly responds with “Cause you’re amazing.” (She’s slightly biased.)
Thank you Creative Saskatchewan for the support! I really didn’t think I was gonna make the cut!
