Unfortunately I have no choice but to collect tariffs at
checkout so I can pre-pay them at the time of shipping

You will not be charged anything further at delivery

All shipping fees, duties and tariffs are paid
by me from what I collect at checkout

If this nonsense is resolved BEFORE your order is actually shipped I will refund the appropriate amounts to you when it is shipped out.

If the tariffs are removed, you will receive 100% of What was collected back.

If they are reduced, you will receive the balance.

I know these tariffs are absolutely ridiculous, and asking my US customers to pay so much more just to order from me honestly makes me sick.

So to every single one of you who has continued to support LD Nails through this mess, whether you’ve placed an order, shared my work, commented, liked a post, or simply stuck around while I try to navigate all of this...

Hello Friends.
This post is coming over a week too late, but here it is.
I have spent the last week swinging like a pendulum between deep sadness and overwhelming anger and felt I needed to get some control over my emotions before I ran to social media.
As you may know, the USA has slapped devastating 50% tariffs on shipments from Canada. My HTS Code is among the affected products.
This feels like the final blow to a tiny business that has been holding on for dear life for over a year now. There is no dodging this one. No forms to fill out, no loophols. no CUSMA to fall back on.
Nothing.
I feel like I am watching 6 years of my life, 6 years of proverbial blood, sweat and tears, 6 years of financial and emotional investment... just swirling down the drain, and there isn't a fu***ng thing i can do about it.
I am devastated.
I cant absorb any more. And certainly not 50%.
Last week i shipped the last of my USA order that I could feasiblely cover the tarrifs for.. I am tapped out.
And to top it all off, Etsy REFUSES to support the small businesses that make them every fu***ng dollar that they have ever made. They tell Canadaian shops to just roll the tariffs into our pricing or our shipping fees... why?? Because they are making fu***ng BANK off the extra fees they get to charge us on them, instead of giving us a way to properly invoice these TAXES. It's fu***ng disgusting, and criminal.
So. We either roll the 50% extra into item pricing, which prices us out of the market, presents challenges when it comes to customs declarations, and also artificially inflates our earnings for tax reporting... or we add it to the shipping fees and customers immediately jump ship at checkout because of the outrageous surprise final total.
it's lose - lose. I am furious.
this honestly all just makes you want to throw in the towel and say f**k it. You win. I quit.
But that's exactly what THEY want, and i fu***ng refuse.
I know that most people will not be able to afford the extra fees tacked onto my product pricing, and I completely understand that. But I have had customers approach me asking me to just roll it in and open shipping so they can buy.

These are part of a larger order that I am still working on, but I was excited to share them. Sometimes it feels like I am doing the same sets over and over, and while I am always soooo grateful for any order I receive, when someone digs down into the barrel and orders an old set I haven't done in YEARS.. I get excited 🤣 These were fun to paint this morning, now I'm signing off to go finish the rest! ✌️
