There are weddings I’m proud of because of the flowers… and then there are weddings that remind me why I wanted to build this business in the first place.
Jackie’s was both. 🤍
I’ve known Jackie as a client for years.
Long before there was a wedding date on my calendar, there were Christmases. Every year, Jackie would bring me her Christmas container and I’d refill it for the season.
We built a relationship in the most ordinary way.
A Christmas container.
A conversation at the shop.
Another year. Another arrangement.
And slowly, trust.
Then one day, I wasn’t talking to Jackie about her Christmas greens anymore.
We were talking about her wedding flowers. 🥹
And Jackie had a VISION.
Moody purples. Lavender. Soft Ocean Song roses. Hydrangeas. Lisianthus. Dahlias. Layers of texture and movement. Romantic, garden-inspired flowers that felt abundant without feeling overly perfect.
Then came the part nobody sees.
The ordering. The processing. The buckets taking over the shop. The ladder becoming a support system because I had packed so many flowers into my van. 😂 The early start because Aldergrove Cruise-In was happening that weekend and approximately 80,000 people were descending on our little town.
And eventually… all of those moving pieces became her wedding.
But my favourite part wasn't the arch.
It wasn't the centrepieces.
It wasn't even seeing the entire space finished.
It was handing Jackie her bouquet.
Because for a few seconds, I got to watch someone who had supported my little flower business for years see her bridal bouquet for the first time.
Her reaction absolutely melted me.
I’ve designed a lot of wedding flowers in 2026. I've had some very long days and some moments where I've wondered how on earth I'm going to get everything done.
And somehow, that one reaction made my entire wedding season.
It reminded me that this business has never really been about selling flowers.
It's about being invited into people's lives.
Sometimes I meet you when you need a birthday bouquet.
Sometimes it's a Christmas container I refill every December.
And sometimes, years later, I get to make the flowers you carry down the aisle. 💕
