Happy September everyone! What a summer it has been. But this month offers back to school, and the 31st Annual Almonte Fibrefest, a celebration of all things woven knitted, tatted, crocheted and felted. And of course, the Window Twins went wild with tons of fun textiles in the shop, and anything else woven, wefted, or re-vamped.

Nothing seems to be untouched by our darling St. Dolly's parting, and so the whole window took a Country and Western turn. So you'll also see some cowboy boots, ten gallon hats, tin barn stars and pistol-shaped AVON bottles. Thank you ladies! What a fitting tribute to The Blonde One, and to clothes and textiles of many colours. 💛🔫🤠🌞⭐🙏🌻💛

Taking down the adorable toy window the Twins put together for Puppets Up! They rearranged things mid-month after the festival, so don't worry, the toys aren't moving around by themselves. Much.

Oh my goodness! Who's been painting up the windows in Almonte? Well . . . a bunch of very committed volunteers sweating it out in this heat, heat, heat! What for? PUPPETS UP!, Almonte's famed and fabulous puppet festival -- this weekend. So much quirky and original fun to be had here. Oh boy. Hope to see you in town. And big ups to those hard-working artists: it looks amazing. 🙏🌞🙏🌞🙏

Something very marvellous and marionetti is happening in Almonte this weekend: Puppets Up!, Almonte's international puppet festival. The street windows are all painted up in anticipation, and so many exciting things will be happening! The Window Twins did this fabulous toybox fantasy, featuring Madame Blue and her two puppet familiars (made many years ago by one of one twin's students.)

The night photography has certainly given this otherwise cheerful window a mysterious aspect, and I'm pretty sure it all comes alive when no one is looking. A huge thanks to the Twins, and to all the wonderful folks who made this magical festival possible. 🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙🙏💙

August is here, and we are in full summer swing at Big Vintage. Oooh, baby! So many new things coming in, and the weather is fantastique! There's never been a better time to visit Almonte, and don't forget Puppets Up! (the town's famed and fabulous puppet festival) Is coming this weekend. Come and take a peek!

Oh my! Look at this succulent cerulean surprise Carol has conjured with her masterful merchandising magic. So gor-juss! 👏💙👏💙👏 And of course, we had to sneak in the awesome and rare copy -- newly in -- of the Miles Davis classic, "Kind of Blue" -- on BLUE VINYL. Eeeeek! The whole thing is making me weak in the knees.

And of course we are open this Civic Holiday Monday, 10 - 5. Hope to see you in Almonte this blue Monday.
