Sixteen months ago, I walked into the Drayton Youth Centre as a volunteer, giving one Friday night a month. Five months later, I stepped into a director role...a position that reminded me how powerful it is when you choose to show up for your community. And today, I’m honoured to share that I am now Co‑Chair of the Youth Centre.

What inspires me most isn’t the titles, it’s the youth themselves. Their honesty, their energy, their messy, beautiful growth. The way they walk through our doors and remind us that potential is something you nurture, not something you measure. They are the heartbeat of this place, and the reason this work matters.🤗❤️

For 27 years, the Youth Centre has been a safe, steady space for young people in our community. I’m grateful to help carry that legacy forward , to keep building a place where youth feel seen, supported, heard and believed in.
Here’s to the work, the heart, and the impact still ahead… and to the young people who inspire it every single day.😊

Today was one of those deep breath, step‑out‑of‑your‑comfort‑zone kind of days.
Those who know me know I enjoy writing, but public speaking? Not exactly my comfort zone.

This morning, I had the privilege of speaking at the Community Worship Service at the Fair on behalf of the Drayton Youth Centre, where I serve as both director and volunteer. It was incredible to see five churches come together in one service…different beliefs, same purpose: community.

Standing there, my hands were shaking, my heart was racing, and I was silently praying I wouldn’t trip over my words as I looked out at 100's of people in the stands. But somehow, the message came through. Afterwards, people came up to thank me, others saying how much it meant to them. I was blown away.🤯❤️

We received generous donations, met new volunteers, and connected with so many kind souls. It reminded me that when we show up, even nervous, even unsure… good things happen. It’s people coming together, supporting one another, and proving that kindness still leads the way.🤗👌❤️

Phew...now that, that's over I can have a glass of w**e.
