This was a bit of time in the works. Made completely out of hard maple for a customer. Platform bed,because in germany there are no box springs with the mattress (this I did not know), so I tried to find plans for what I was thinking. Couldn’t find anything, so this came out of my head as a custom design. I made everything myself, the legs on the lathe and the footboard and headboard have almost a 100 dowels in them. The main boards just sit in slots, the rest of the bed is a quick connect system. Can be taken apart in about a minute.

This is the first piece of a counter top, the other part is downstairs getting finished up. It will be a L shape. This one is 9 feet long, 25 1/2 inches wide by 1 3/4 thick. There is also 2 vanities and a bread nook that are going with this. Made of red oak.

I do woodworking as a hobby due to the fact I broke my back 16 years ago. Normally i do it at my own pace as my back can’t handle standing for hours on end. I took on a project that the customer wants it yesterday. If I wanted to beat the hell out of myself, I would still be doing heavy haul. After I’m done the customers work, I’m quitting the wood work.
