🌌✨ It's one of the biggest weeks of the year for astrotourism in New Brunswick / Nouveau-Brunswick! ☀️🌠

The skies are putting on an incredible show, and Cliff Valley Astronomy is proud to be leading the way with an exciting week of celestial experiences across the province!

🇨🇦 As Canada's leading astrotourism company, we're thrilled to welcome visitors from near and far—including a group travelling from Maryland, USA—to experience New Brunswick's spectacular dark skies. This week also includes interviews with Radio-Canada, helping share our province's growing reputation as one of Canada's premier stargazing destinations.

📅 Here's what's happening:

🌌 Tonight – We're hosting our guests from Maryland for an unforgettable night under the stars.

🎙️ This week – A couple interview with Radio-Canada.

☀️🌙 Wednesday (August 12) – Join us for the Partial Solar Eclipse, beginning around 1:30 PM, at Parc Provincial Mt. Carleton Provincial Park and ONE DAY - TWO BIG CELESTIAL EVENTS - MIDDLE ISLAND, MIRAMICHI. Then, beginning at 9:30 PM, we'll turn our eyes to the night sky for guided stargazing and one of the year's most anticipated celestial events—the **Perseid Meteor Shower! 🌠

🌊 Friday & Saturday – We're heading to Parc New River Beach Park for two spectacular nights of guided stargazing, with on-site activities beginning at 8:00 PM both nights.

⚠️ Solar Eclipse Safety Reminder
If you're planning to observe Wednesday's partial solar eclipse, ONLY use certified eclipse glasses and approved solar filters on cameras, binoculars, telescopes, and even smartphones. Never look directly at the Sun without proper protection.

On the list, the Irving Nature Park makes its entry as the only Urban Star Park mentioned. And in some very prominent company, such as Jasper National Park in Jasper, Canada and Churchill, Manitoba, Canada.

We are so fortunate for the partnerships and support from around New Brunswick and across Canada. Two of these partnerships is Miramichi Economic Development & Tourism and Discover Miramichi who have played an integral role with helping grow in our province.

The City of Miramichi has been a fully engaged partner dating back to 2023 as we prepared for the and continues to this day with our ONE DAY - TWO BIG CELESTIAL EVENTS - MIDDLE ISLAND, MIRAMICHI in less than three weeks.

Discover Miramichi is showing also leadership in working with operators of the region to position themselves for astrotourism. Thanks to their help we count a dozen Dark Sky Destinations partners in their region! And feature both our experiences (Cliff Valley Astronomy and Dark Sky Destinations) in their 2026 Tourism Guide.

Another wonderful community stargazing event is happening in Tantramar at the Waterfowl Park this Thursday (weather date back up of Saturday in case of clouds/rain).

Please dress as if it's 10 degrees colder as temps drop fast after sunset. Stargazing is best enjoyed when you're comfortable.

This is such a busy time of year for our team. Some items on our to-do list have had to wait a few days or a couple of weeks.

One of them was updating our Press page on our website, especially for the two amazing recent articles by Carol Patterson in JourneyWoman: Solo Travel + Women Over 50 Travel, Since 1994 and Steve Lyons' Written in the Stars for Re: Porter magazine Porter Airlines!

Both are incredibly written overviews of all the great things with in New Brunswick / Nouveau-Brunswick!
