New wine!!

JEAN-LOUIS CHAVE SELECTION SAINT-JOSEPH OFFERUS 2019

The vineyards used for Offerus are located in two distinct St. Joseph areas. The communities of Mauves, Tournon, and St. Jean de Muzols yield over 80% of the blend and are owned by Jean Louis. These southern vineyard sites express tightly wound tannins, spice, and power. They add structure and depth to complete the harmony of Offerus. The remaining vineyards are located in more northerly communities around Serrières, and even these are farmed mainly by Jean-Louis, though he doesn’t own the vineyards. This soil produces wines which are more elegant with incredible purity, definition, and focus. About 50% destemmed. Fermentation in wood tonneaux and stainless steel tanks. Aged in barriques and foudres for 18 months.

A new Champagne just arrived at The Banff Wine Store!! Come check it out and get one for yourself while supplies last. 🍾

The 60% Chardonnay forms the backbone of its structure while the 35% Pinot Noir from Tours-sur-Marne, Bouzy and Ambonnay give it depth and fruit. The 5% Pinot Meunier perfects these harmonies with aromatic density. Without ever assaulting the palate, this is a beautifully powerful champagne. Freshness and roundness merge to deliver a clean, fruity finish, with well-balanced and elegant length on the palate. A light dosage is added to Delamotte Brut champagne after thirty-six months’ maturation on the lees, as is the case for the entire Delamotte range.

New Wine Alert!!

We are super excited about these two Walla Walla Valley Syrahs

From the left,

The Contender, 2018

Coming in at a low 13.3% abv, the wine has aromas offering restrained notes of soot, plum, olive, nori and scorched earth. The flavors are light and reserved. It's a pretty expression of Rocks District fruit.

Foothills Reserve, 2018

More true to its style this wine comes in at 14.5% ABV. This wine comes from a vineyard in the foothills of the Blue Mountains, a region few other producers have explored. The aromas are expressive, with notes of sea salt, olive brine, kelp, tapenade, smoked meat and peony. Pillowy soft, lithe, sophisticated savory flavors follow. It shows plenty of hang time on the savory and flower-filled finish.

Be sure to get your hands on one these truly spectacular Syrahs for your cellar while supplies last.
