On September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour residential school Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts on families and communities. 🧡
Trauma can carry across generations. Healing can carry forward, too. With the next seven generations in mind, the healing we support today can help break cycles of trauma and create a different future.
Art can be part of that journey—a way to share stories, reconnect with culture, express difficult experiences, and pass on strength, knowledge, and hope.
At Biskane, we believe supporting Indigenous art begins with valuing the person behind it. Purchasing art from Survivors and their descendants supports their livelihoods and their continued creation. Taking time to hear the stories they choose to share helps us understand their journeys and the meaning within their work.
Today, and throughout the year, make space for Indigenous art, voices, and stories. What we support today can carry forward for next seven generations.
