A crokinole board is a classic mayhem-maker: some skill, a little strategy, and a quiet evening turns into a fierce battle. And then, naturally, one more round.

These beautiful wooden boards are made in Nova Scotia by Toy Maker of Lunenburg, a family-run workshop crafting wooden toys and games on the East Coast since 1979. Their crokinole board is a handsome piece of traditional craftsmanship, made for the table rather than the closet, and built for generations of play.

A love letter to Atlantic Canada, one brand at a time.

Holdfast Ink’s Heidi Turner has a particular talent for spotting the poetry in things we might otherwise overlook—an old Ganong tin, a Crosby’s molasses label, a blue lobster straight from the sea—and using them to inspire beautifully considered everyday goods. Her hand-carved designs draw on the brands, places, signs, and ephemera that have shaped everyday life in Atlantic Canada. Heidi turns that shared visual history into beautiful, useful things.

Based in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Heidi hand-prints her designs using lino-cut and letterpress. The result is part nostalgia, part graphic history, and entirely Atlantic Canadian.

From a kitchen experiment by twin sisters Janie and Lauren Noël when they were just sixteen, Noël & Co. has grown into a family-run candle studio in Kentville, Nova Scotia. What began as a way to raise money for a school trip has become a thriving small business that's a true family affair, with three generations now involved in the work.
