Out in the beautiful Whiteshell park, in Manitoba, at my favourite Crowduck Lake. Foggy in the morning, but that didn’t stop me my from catching some big fish. Using my 1/8 oz chartreuse Rainbow jig, paired with a bubblegum TRD, caught some really big fat small mouth bass. Not to be undone, I used the same method, same jig with a Nate’s bait minnow to land a super walleye. The action these simple jigs produce, are fish catchers.

Here is a follow up video on my recent trip, a few days back.Broke in my new Frabill, fishing net, love the handle at the net, for pulling the fish in. Add my HellCat rods, with Penn bait caster reels, makes the perfect combo for fighting fish in the current. Merv from New Zealand was pretty exited and exhausted . Took a ton of videos and pics that day. Red River Manitoba.

Had the pleasure of fishing with Chris, and his dad Merv from New Zealand, on Wednesday on the Red River, Manitoba. We surely boated some beasts today. Huge fights, and the fish won a couple. All fun day. I’ll post a short video also tomorrow.

As I think back, getting older, i have fewer fishing trips ahead of me, then ones I have experienced in the past. I’m very great full for all the times and years I have spent on the water. This is my pike musky addition, sometimes a forgotten species, where a lot of anglers chase other species. All these were caught in our eastern lakes systems, and into Ontario. Using the saucer jig design, since 1996, and a lot these fish succumb to the jig and minnow varieties, that I use today.

Boiling hot here, on the cabin on the rock, 35c yesterday. Blue skies, no clouds, make for tuff fishing conditions. Felt like laying in the water to sleep. What else is hot is our rainbow jigs, coming through these tuff conditions. Great field testing happening now, there are more pictures on the way. Echo Lake,Jackson’s Lodges and Outfitters. The jigs are on fire. My guest Stoney caught a MA Lake Whitefish at 23.25 inches, and a 28 1/4” walleye today. Pictures later,my friend Wally from Wisconsin, not to be undone also caught a MA walleye just over 28”. This is in a no wind, hot hot weather. Saucer jigs work. Going to award the badges later, big fish contest.
