Another Little Roots Market creation is coming to life, and I am absolutely LOVING this one. 😍

Meet Beach Sand 🌊✨

I wanted to create a sensory filler that had all those warm, sandy beach tones while still giving little hands lots of different textures to discover.

🤍 Soft sandy rice
🧡 Warm peachy tones
✨ Shimmery little treasures
🐚 Shell-shaped pasta
🤏 Lots of tiny textures for scooping, pouring, digging & exploring
And can we talk about those little metallic shells and micro mini star pasta?! 😍🐚

Add some sea creatures, shells, scoops, little buckets or buried treasures and you've got your own miniature beach ready for imaginative play.

I'm still testing, tweaking and creating behind the scenes, but this one is definitely becoming a favourite. 🤎

Another Little Roots Market Curiosity Mix is coming together… and this one is made for my little builders! 🔨🦺

Introducing my Construction / Builders Curiosity Mix! 🖤🧡💛

I've been playing around with different shapes, sizes and textures to make this blend extra satisfying for little hands to scoop, pour, sort, dig and explore.
Inside you'll find a busy mix of:

💛 Bulldozer yellow
🖤 Bold black
🤍 Natural & metallic touches
〰️ Twists, tubes, curves and all sorts of fun shapes!

I'm still in the testing and tweaking stage, but I am LOVING how this one is turning out. 😍

👀🌈 BEHIND THE SCENES AT LITTLE ROOTS MARKET! 🌈👀

Okay… I might be having WAY too much fun creating these trial sensory blends. 😂
This one was all about experimenting with colour, texture and SIZE! I mixed rice with tiny pieces, chunky pieces, twisty pasta, rings, and those shiny little pops of green. 💚💜🩷🧡

And THIS is exactly why I'm making trial batches first!

I'm figuring out:

✨ Which colours look amazing together
🌾 Which fillers give the best variety of textures
🤏 How much of each size feels just right
🎨 Which combinations I want to turn into actual Little Roots Market blends
Some experiments will make the cut… some definitely won't. 😂 But I'm loving the process of figuring it all out.

And because you're here while I'm building this little business, I want your opinion too!

🌿✨ A Little Behind-the-Scenes at Little Roots Market! ✨🌿

I've been busy experimenting, testing and making LOTS of colourful messes over here. 😂

Right now I'm working on different sensory fillers—testing colours, textures, combinations and even different sizes of fillers to see what makes the most fun sensory experience for little hands. 🫘🌾🌈

These are still trial batches, so you might see things change as I figure out what I love (and what I definitely don't 🤣).

But I thought… why keep all the experimenting to myself?!
I want you guys along for the ride. 💜

So you'll start seeing some of my trials, colour combinations, new ideas and probably a few "well THAT didn't work" moments too. 😂

And I would LOVE your opinions along the way!

My very first Little Roots Market sensory rice blend! 🌈✨

And oh my goodness… look at all that colour! 😍

This bright, cheerful blend is filled with shades of red, purple, blue, green, yellow and orange—perfect for scooping, pouring, sorting and hours of imaginative sensory play.

I’m thinking of calling this one Rainbow Roots. What do you think? 🌱🌈

Tongs, scoops, rollers, stamps and child-sized utensils make sensory play even more inviting. While children use them, they strengthen their hands, coordinate movements and experiment with cause and effect.

Children simply know they are having fun—and that is how play-based learning should feel. 💜

Would a compact sensory or busy-play kit be helpful for restaurants, road trips, camping, appointments, airplane travel or quiet time at home?

I love activities that are easy to pack, simple to bring out and interesting enough to keep little hands busy.

What does “open-ended play” mean? 🌿

It means there is no single finished result children are expected to copy. The same materials might become a birthday cake, monster, garden, family of tiny creatures—or something only the child understands!

Open-ended materials invite children to make decisions, test ideas and tell their own stories. 💜
