Working on replenishing to get ready for the Harvest & Homegrown Fall Fair in September.
6 pairs of slippers, with a few more to make, and 42 dishcloths, which I just need to weave the ends in.
My studio is open this week Tuesday through Friday, 11-4.
Just pop in anytime during these hours. Send me a message to arrange an appointment if you would like to visit earlier or later.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the wonderful She-Sells Market on Sunday. It was lots of fun meeting new, neighbouring vendors.

My next vendor event isnā€™t until September 5th, which is the Harvest & Homegrown Fall Fair (Formerly named Lighthouse Country Fall Fair), where Wendy and I will, once again, be set up in the Lions Hall up the hill and behind the Lighthouse Community Hall. See poster below for more info.

In the meantime, I will continue to post my drop-in Deep Bay studio schedule to keep everyone up to date.

Just a reminder that my studio is closed until next week. You will be able to find me at the She-Sells Market & Fundraiser event this coming Sunday, July 19th, 10-4 at the Parksville Curling Club for Beach Days. I will be at booth #68 on the site map below. Yes, I am aware that my first name is spelled wrong but whatever. šŸ˜‰

The first photo below shows my ā€˜back by popular demandā€™ wash mitts in new, fun colours. Also pictured are my two donations for the fundraiser. 1) Set of 4 dishcloths and one sparkly scrubby. 2) Set of 3 face scrubbies, 1 soap sack, and 1 wash mitt. I just have to wrap them up.

ā€œINTRODUCING 2026 She-Sells Market Vendor - Wanitta Ranson

My name is Wanitta and I design and make crocheted goods for home and body, as well as hand enamelled/painted, and hand assembled jewellery using new and vintage components.
I have been crocheting since I was 13 but my creativity was inspired at a younger age when I lived in Fort Rupert, learning indigenous arts and crafts from my school friendsā€™ aunties and grandmothers.
When my kids were toddlers I decided to sell my crafts at markets, primarily saving money for a credit free Christmas. It began with blankets and then in 2004 I added jewellery items, which is also when I registered my business name, Itā€™s My Thing Designs.
I love immersing myself into my creativity as a way of blocking out the rest of the world, especially when I am working on jewellery pieces in my studio. Itā€™s my form of meditation.
I donā€™t limit my creativity to just crocheting or jewellery. I also love repurposing garage sale and thrift store finds into something unique, so my mediums are really anything I can get my hands on. Itā€™s my thing and I love it!

Well, this came up fast!
I will be attending the Summer Kick Off Market this Saturday, June 27th, at the Qualicum Civic Centre. Over 60 vendors with locally made items.

Iā€™ve added little ā€˜green dotā€™ tags to all my newly made earrings so shoppers will know what Iā€™ve added this year.

Other treasures that are newly designed, new colours, or completely new include:
Teapot cozies - mostly all new colours
Dish cloths - new design & colours. Same great yarn
Swirly dish scrubbies - new design, bigger, added scrubby yarn (customers asked so Iā€™m making them šŸ˜‰)
Sponge scrubbies - different yarn, new colours.
Hand towel rings for oven/fridge handle- slightly new design and lighter coloured rings
Bath Poufs - new item! A nice compliment to the face scrubbies and soap sacks.
Face scrubbies - fun new colours
Soap sacks - fun new colours and slightly different design
Octopus cat toys - new design. I still have a few of the ā€˜Mouseā€™ cat toys left so will be bringing them along.
ā€˜Balloon Animalā€™ backpack charms - new item

My set up or displays may not change much but my product line does. Pop by my table and take a look.
