Congratulations Birchbark in Bala on your 10th Anniversary! We urge all our Lilibird customers to pop into Birchbark to fill all your needs that we used to help you with at Lilibird, now that we've closed the store and retired. We'll be popping by Birchbark often and look forward to seeing you there for a catch up! Nick and Eden have an incredible array of products, some the same as Lilibird, and many others original to their store. Their puzzle and game selection is outstanding....and Nick has been known to play games at the cash to demonstrate the fun factor! He always lets the little kids win!!! So hop in the car, enjoy the short ride, and pop into Birchbark to check it out! You'll be glad you did! They're located one block north of the grocery store!

Now officially closed and, sadly, tearing out fixtures. We want to thank each and every one of you for supporting our store over the past seventeen incredible years of meeting you, hearing your stories, sharing memorable occasions and watching your children and grandchildren grow! It's been a true blessing and we hope to see you out shopping, walking, and enjoying our beautiful town and Muskoka. Our son, Nick, (the happy dude on the left) and his partner in life and retail, Eden, are ready at Birchbark in Bala to fill your "Lilibird" needs and it's a beautiful drive over there! We hope to see you occasionally over there as well if we jump in to help when one of them wants a day off! Thank you folks, it's been a blast!!!

OK, we're tearing through the back room at Lilibird and finding all sorts of treasures that retailers are known to stash when they can't part with the final items in a collection. And these cushions are part of our stash! We've now sold them all since yesterday but have left: one full cushion with high back 18"x24"x3" seat attached to 21"x24" x 3" high back....$45. (Shown on left side of photo). Call Lilibird to snap it up before it's gone! 705-645-8080.....sadly, we are now closed for in-store shopping as we're tearing down the interiors.

Well, friends, it’s been a journey! We opened Lilibird the summer of 2004 in the old stone church in Bala to test the waters. When the landlord decided to sell the church we moved to Port Carling for two years, then back to the church in Bala until 2015 while opening our year-round store in Bracebridge in 2009.

Our son, Nick, and daughter-in-law, Eden, took over the Bala location in 2016 and moved it to the little white house up the street, under its new name, BIRCHBARK. They are not closing and it's business as usual for them.

We’re so grateful to all of you. But the time has come to hang up the price guns.

We’ve been in retail for 35 years, starting with our coffee and gift shop, Sweet Greetings, in Sault Ste. Marie and eventually moving down to beautiful Bracebridge to be a little closer to the kids. Such a beautiful place, with wonderful people, and we’ve enjoyed getting to know all of you.

Bev is going to spend some time crazy crafting, gardening, and reading books that happen on beaches (she like beaches) and Steen will spend some time walking around town, exploring, and reading novels about spies. We'll both spend more time with our grandchildren in North Bay, of course. And who knows what else we’ll do?!

So, thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts.

P.S. We love helping out at Birchbark in Bala during Cranberry Festival, and when the retail urge arises they may let us "help out" occasionally during the rest of the year!
