Public rant. I never do this, but in this case, it’s 100% warranted. I was born and raised in Brampton, as was my brother and sister. My Mom, now 81 years old, still lives in the same house we grew up in. Bramalea, now Brampton South. This morning she was robbed on her front lawn while weeding dandelions. A car pulled up driven by a man with a young woman in a blue headdress in the back who rolled down the window and called my Mom over. This young woman proceeding to put a cheap ring on my Mom’s finger while spewing s**t about her own Mother and praying while stealing my Mom’s gold chain and three gold rings right off her neck and fingers! They passed her a baby sock with a few fake rings and chain in it, and a $5 and drove off. This was reported to the Peel Police immediately after it happened around 10 am this morning. I have followed up once at 3 pm and was told they are busy. I advised the dispatcher that the longer it took, the less details my Mom is likely to remember. As I post this, we are still waiting. This town has gone to S**T. My Mom is physically okay, but still in shock and puzzled and angry about allowing someone to take advantage of her like that. This is NOT on her. Our elderly should be supported and treated as a priority. Brampton, DO BETTER!!! This is unacceptable. To the pieces of garbage that pulled this stunt, shame on you.
