FRGS Relationship and Supply Lead

Make a difference at Food Rescue Grocery Store as our Relationship and supply Lead.

This job may be for you! You'll be the ultimate culture champion,
keeping the vibe alive for our super staff and volunteers. You'll be like a fairy
godparent of food rescue, coordinating pickups and stocking the store to
perfection. As the food wizard of the team, you'll build strong relationships with
suppliers and other food logistics people, spreading the word about the mighty
impact of food rescue on the environment. Get ready to save food one rescue

About us:
Food Rescue Grocery is on a mission to save 100,000 pounds of food from the landfill this year. There is an extraordinary amount of food that is wasted every day here in Canada and we help to divert some of that food through programs like the Food Rescue Grocery Store. By making this food universally available at a low price point, we provide another route to save good food from being turned into waste, help to relieve some financial anxiety about food, support societal participation and agency across socio-economic demographics, and support local food banks with food and financial resources.

Position Responsibilities:
● Coordination and development of food rescue agencies/organizations
● Weekly pick up of Second Harvest and other developed sources, including Friday morning trips to Winnipeg
● Coordinate donation requirements with FRGS Retail Leader and management
● Ensure the climate-controlled storage facility complies with outlined safety policies and procedures and health regulation
Qualifications:
● Understanding or lived experience of food insecurity
● Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
● Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
● Attention to detail
● Reliability
● Ability to back up a 13ft trailer accurately
● Valid driver's license
o Forklift operator certificate is an asset
● A reliable vehicle, work related usage will be compensated as per Prov of Mb mileage rates.
● The ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
● Experience working in a logistics shipping/receiving environment would be considered an asset
Expected Hours:
27+. Current hours will be Thursday 10am- 6:30pm, Friday 6:30am – 2pm, Saturday 11am-4pm, plus 4 other hours allotted to unscheduled tasks.
Work remotely: No
Salary: $17-$20 per hour commensurate with experience
