Wow. If you live in northern Texas how do you get anything done? I can’t stop staring at the beauty all around. Day 3 in the car, Celeste is coming along well. It hit 10C/50F yesterday but at this elevation it’s -6C/21F and the heater in the Jeep isn’t working again so having such a snuggly sweater in my lap is fine with me. New Mexico, here we come!

Sophie has released her new Tendreil sweater today! Wear it oversized, cropped, round neck, v-neck, split hem or round, it’s all in there. The gorgeous cabling on the shoulders is my fav detail in this sweater - followed by the amazing combo of Peer Gynt + mohair! I test knit this back in the summer when it was 30C so am very grateful for cooler weather to finally wear it 🥰.

This pic tells so much about me! I’m a proud grandma to 2 beautiful girls - 2.5 yrs and 7 weeks. I love a foamy latte while getting some morning knitting done. And I wear my Santa flannel pants all year round 🤭 I’ve bound off the body of the test knit for and will pick up a sleeve shortly but needed something a bit mindless for now so have cast on another No Frills tee, this one with stripes.

Did you get out to your LYS today? We did! It was so nice to pet and cuddle the yarns in person after buying yarn online for so long. We visited .red.mitten in St Thomas and in Galt over 2 days and had such fun spoiling ourselves. I hope everyone had the chance to show their LYS some love!

Headed home after a much needed week away, and taking advantage of the 6 hr drive to work on the Ranunculus I started a couple days ago. This wasn’t on the sweater agenda but I mucked up a pan of Candy Cane sock yarn last week and figured it would make an adorable Christmas pullover. This is Ranunculus No. 3 - I’ve been living in the first one as it’s quite a bit cooler here in Eastern Ontario than at home in the south and it’s been a nice teaser for sweater weather to come 🥰

When you have a bin of single socks because you thought it was a great idea to make one sock of each new colourway first then go back and make the partners, which was in the summer and they’re still not done because it’s sweater/hat/mitts season but your feet are cold now. Is there some way to have this post automatically come up next summer so I don’t think it’s a great idea again???

This year I was bound and determined to have a pair of mittens on my person vs in the hall closet while I'm in the car, but thick mittens take up a lot of space in a bag and pockets. Solution? World's Simplest Mittens made with fi*****ng merino and lace mohair held double knit at DK weight. Look at that fabric! Charcoal fi*****ng held double with limey/olive green mohair means light, warm and squishy mittens - problem solved!

Remember when I said I do the happy dance when I nail a new colourway? Yeah, that didn't happen here. The mini for my newest sock set Chestnuts fought tooth and nail, but in the end Moody is everything I wanted it to be. A deep, moody neutral that lets the rich palette in Chestnuts shine. You may have noticed that the shop is getting a bit empty, and I have all of you to thank for that! I'm humbled and honoured that so many of you have shopped with me, and trust me I've done the happy dance every time. You don't want to see it - just imagine something awkward and painful and you'll be close. I'm dyeing Fairy Christmas this afternoon since FB keeps telling me how few days it is until Christmas, but the most exciting news is there are new colourways in the shop and a couple more on the drying racks that will come over the weekend. Some days you just nail a colour and that happened twice this week, so there was a lot of stumbling around - I mean dancing. I dare you not to love Copper Penny!
