Recent find. Very cool early 1900’s Lyon & Healy made Montgomery Wade Thornward bowl back mandolin. Those fingerboard inlays drew me right in! Overall, not too bad of shape. Fixed a separating back seam now working on some split top brace ends. Next, new bridge and some cleanup.

Had one of the most satisfying repairs lately. My good pickin’ pal John turned 80 recently. I was able to repair his father’s old ukulele in time for his old time jam party yesterday. As soon as I gave it to him he gifted it to his three year old grandson visiting from the east coast. It was a magical moment! So happy to help with family treasures!

Next up a 69’ H927 Harmony guitar. Not in too of bad shape. Back coming off with some back cracks and loose braces. Will be a neat little birch box once complete!

Back to the banjos. Old Fairbanks this time. Someone “installed” more modern tuners and caused the cheek of the peghead to split off 😞. Lots of work to do.
