Yesterday’s Tweed Ride was an absolute blast! Thank you to everyone who joined us for a beautiful ride celebrating Calgary’s cycling history.

It was great welcoming everyone to the YYC Bike HUB and sharing our collection of amazing vintage bikes. It was also the first bike ride my sister and I have done together in more than 25 years, which made the day even more special.

Seeing so many people out enjoying their vintage rides was incredible, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.
🚲♥️

Thank you to Bike Calgary 🚲 and Youth en Route for providing the snacks, and a huge thank-you to Chinook Country Historical Society for organizing such a wonderful event.

It’s my birthday today, and what an amazing year it has been.

I didn’t think we could push biking as far as we have in Calgary, but oh boy, have we done some crazy stuff this year: thousands of free bikes for kids, the opening of our second shop, new kids’ bike programs,my 3rd Stampede Parade and lots of group rides, lots of new friends, and our third annual Wheels Fest coming up in September.

By pure coincidence, the Tweed Ride falls on my birthday this year and finishes at Bathtub Bikes @ the Bike HUB, where there will be a bike show featuring some of my bikes, along with snacks and refreshments. I didn’t organize the ride, but I’m very glad to be part of it.

The ride starts today at 1:00 PM at the George C. King Bridge. It’s going to be a great ride, and I can’t wait to see where we take things next.
