Great post by about what rezoning was really about. Ultimately it wasn’t about building more homes but political strategy. You can see that the rezoning would be resulting in gentle change over time, not drastic, not scary, and more evenly spread throughout the city!

You can still help to save the free fare zone! Read the excerpt from the Sprawl Calgary summary of the current issue and then write to your city council and let them know how important this is especially if your councillor is one of the ones that voted to end it. Transit is a very important poverty reduction pillar. We cannot make it harder to access. If anything, we should be expanding it.
