This spoke to me today ❤️ And the power of each small moment in the day to have an impact on our littles. Not just the big decisions we make, but the transformation that is possible in all the small moments too.... greeting their eager little smiles each morning, connecting over laughter, encouraging empathy after they've taken their siblings stuffy for the 48th time that day... it's all about the little things. Sometimes traditional really is best. While I wouldn't want to go back to hand washing our (endless!) loads of laundry, keeping toys simple and open-ended allows children to use their creativity and practice various developmental skills. This Wooden Matching Set is a prime example, used to play the traditional game of Memory or for younger kiddos "I Spy". Introducing.... Colour Matching Feelings Faces. Check us out! We'll be making our first appearance tomorrow morning at the APVC Winter Market in Inglewood 10-4. We help littles with colour matching, and we also provide a tool to promote the development of emotional identification and eventually, emotional regulation. We even come with a little "How To" which outlines the many ways we can be played with, learned from and enjoyed by your whole family! We can't wait to meet you tomorrow!!

Happy December! We're celebrating in our home by opening the first door of our Gratitude and Kindness Advent Calendar (not for sale, just for fun!) At Bug and Bird, we focus on development in all aspects of the word and this activity helps us practice social and emotional development. I am so excited announce that Bug & Bird has a new owner! I have loved this little business and my customers so much. As I began to move in a new direction, I couldn't imagine just letting Bug & Bird fade away and so, I am delighted to introduce you to Melissa Clark. She is full of big, creative ideas and I'm sure you are going to adore her as much as I do.

"What an exciting new adventure! It is with great passion and big dreams, that my family and I have decided to take on Bug & Bird. We fell in love with the natural materials, innovative designs and learning-based toys that Freya produces. We plan to continue creating many of Freya's well-loved products, while focusing our efforts on items that promote attachment and development. With a background in psychology, I plan to use this learning to help develop toys that support healthy bonding and growth in children of all ages. Hello lovely fans! I'm sure you've noticed me winding down over the past months. As my kids grow, so do I, and I have new passion for decorating and staging. I'll still pop back here from time to time, and I may continue to attend sales at Christmas time.
