☁️Vigil takes place at the bedside of an oil company CEO, in the twilight hours of his life, as he is ferried from this world into the next. 🌥️
With the acuity and explosive imagination we’ve come to expect, George Saunders takes on the gravest issues of our time—the menace of corporate greed, the toll of capitalism, the environmental perils of progress—and, in the process, spins a tale that encompasses life and death, good and evil, and the thorny question of absolution.

💅She back at it again! 💅Startlingly perceptive, mordantly funny, and keenly poignant, Half His Age is a rich character study of a yearning seventeen-year-old who disregards all obstacles—or attempts to overcome them—in her effort to be seen, to be desired, to be loved.

This Wednesday ! we are excited to host the launch of The Worst Songs in the World: The Terrible Truth about National Anthems, by the late David Pate. Join us for a night of fun and fascinating history :]

“The best-known songs in the world are violent, sexist, and religious — so why do we celebrate national anthems when we should be rewriting them?”

Hosted by his close friend, John Larsen, who will be reading selections, the launch will also feature presentations from COO of Global Fest, Ken Goosen, and Professor Mushegh Asatrayan of the Language Research Centre at the University of Calgary.
Excited to see you here!
