A successful and fun class!

We went to HSAA to teach the employees not 1… but 2 forms of native art!

1st, they started the day with beading their own orange shirt brooches. Learning and being a part of the discussion of Truth and Reconciliation.

2nd, paused for some yummy bison stew and fry bread 🤤

And 3rd, they made their own talking sticks to bring back to their meetings and family rooms!

A day full of laughter and learning!

Caribou Tufting Art 🖼️

This is an art form that originated in the North West Territories. The hair is sorted and died and sewn on high or velvet to create floral pictures. It can also be applied to moccasins and garments.
