Over two full days, we’ll cover bee biology and behaviour, equipment, seasonal management, pests and diseases, Varroa, feeding, winter preparation, pollination, Calgary bylaws and provincial registration and most importantly, how all of those pieces connect when you’re making decisions in the hive.

And despite the name, this course isn’t only for someone who has never kept bees.

If you started beekeeping this year and found yourself with more questions than answers, or you’ve been learning as you go and want a stronger understanding before another season, this course can help bring those pieces together.

Topic: Pulling Honey Supers & Preparing for Harvest

Our Field Days are a series of hands-on beekeeping workshops, with a different seasonal topic at each session. Join us throughout the season to build your skills and gain practical experience in the apiary.

On August 6, you'll learn how to:
✔ Exactly when your supers are ready to pull
✔ How to evaluate frames like a pro before harvest
✔ Best practices for pulling supers without triggering chaos
✔ How to set your colonies up for success after the honey's off

This session is a great opportunity to learn from experienced beekeeper, watch live demonstrations, and ask your questions.
